I should have most but I can tell you the Hull City one is a no no, every copy was pulped apart from 2 and the bloke who has one will never sell....... the other is with a woman who last I knew worked in the Midlands. I went down on the Friday night until 10pm and was back at the ground at 6am trying to make the pitch playable for that game but the ref called it off at 8.30 am. I went straight to the office to grab a few programmes but they wouldn't let any go as they needed to send them back for an insurance claim with the printers. Chalker the programme editor did say though that he and the commercial manager had stowed two away but he dare not let any more go or the printer would refuse to pay up.


Right, I've got them all except Hull but the dates differ from the ones you have, my guess is all the games were postponed a day before the game and all the copies were destroyed. The Wrexham game was a late postponement at about 1.30pm as freezing fog came down, my guess is they got rid of all the programmes as the rearranged date was a couple of months after the original date,

or is it updated to 16/3/05 inside the programme with 23/2/05 on the cover

You would think that printers would realise the value of the programmes from postpond games like the Boston Hull game, and when they get the copies back rather than pulping the whole lot save back a box or 2 and make back some of their lost costs by selling the programmes on espeically as these kind of programme can fetch them more than the cover price due to the rarness of them.

Im trying to find out the fate of a Cheltenham programme against Tranmere on 11/1/03 all I have got from the club is that they are 98% sure a programme was produced as the game was called off on the day of the match and that they beleive the programmes will have been sent back to the printers to be pulped a short time after. A totally new programme was produced for the re arranged game in Feb. I have contacted the printers (Dunwoody) to see if they can tell me the fate of the programmes but they will not reply. So guess its just going to be lucky if I ever do find it.

I too rang the printers and they refused point blank to send me any copies even though I offered to pay a bit extra. They did say they often had collectors on after postponed games but the policy was to destroy all the copies.

I know copies of the Wrexham and Hull games were produced and all were held back by the club because of the weather. I made a point of popping down the ground on the Friday prior to a game if the weather was iffy but the club always held onto the programmes in case of a postponement so they could claim on the insurance.
