A few questions:

1. Is there any way of finding out when the free listing weekends are scheduled for on E Bay?

2. I thought that a "non business" seller could do 100 x 99p free listings per month but when my wife does one it comes up with a 15p fee so it is not worth it. So, if it is possible, are there any restricitons on these free listings? I cannot find anything on the help pages about it.

3. This may take some explaining! At present when there is a free listing weekend I start listing on Saturday AM and schedule them to start on Sunday evening for a 6 pence fee which is OK with me. However if I knew a free listing weekend was coming up I would like to start listing on, say, Thursday and schedule them forward to start during the free weekend. I am happy to pay the 6 pence but would this also incur the other listing fees? Hope this makes sense.

Happy Xmas to all and best wishes for 2013.

1) eBay try to surprise everyone with their free listing weekends. However, from past experience, there is bound to be one either this weekend or next weekend under the guise of 'sell your unwanted presents' !!!

2) A private seller is allowed to sell up to 100 items per calendar month for free as long as the starting price is 99p or less. If your wife's listing is showing as a potential 15p fee then your starting price is £1 or over. Listing fees for items at 99p or below should be either 5p or 10p depending on category and will be 0p for all items that qualify under the first 100 items per month.

3) If you schedule something to start during a free listing weekend time frame then there will be no listing fee payable - just the 6p scheduling fee.

Seasons greetings.

Very Happy

If you click the ''community'' tab at the top of the ebay page and the sub title ''news'' on a Friday evening this will tell you if it is free listing or not for that particular weekend, this is the only way of finding out a day in advance, no notice is given more than 24 hours in advance.

It looks as though there is free listing for private sellers from today until 1 January 2013.

100 items with a start price of £1 or over.

I think they normally charge if you use their 'professional' listing tools (Turbo lister) as well.............
