I am sure most people know that Royal Mail gets extremely unreliable at this time of year. However it seems that this year the service has crossed the line from unreliable to very poor.

I sent four items by 1st class recorded delivery on Monday, three on Tuesday and two yesterday. So far only one has arrived. Checking the Royal Mail website it looks as though there has not yet even been an attempt made to deliver any of the other items as the current status just states that it was handed in at the post office on the relevant date.

The biggest problem, however, is that an item sent for guaranteed delivery by 9am this morning has still not arrived. The recipient has been at home all morning, the update on the Royal Mail website says it is still being processed etc etc. They charge nearly £20 for this service !!!

Sad

Thanks for bringing this up Danny , i have held of from purchasing anything for my collection at this time of year after my experance of the last couple of years.
I obtained four of my Kettering "wants" list this time last year from the 75/76 season ( so hard to obtain) was realy made up ....but thay never arrived at my address. So putting my collecting on the back burner for the next couple of weeks.

Received a letter today posted first class two days ago. I am also aware that a letter was posted yesterday first class recorded that didn't arrive, probably tomorrow.

Now one day delay at this time of year is probably expected [Special Delivery excepted], but then why should we pay for a next day service when it's obvious that the Royal Mail cannot deliver on that promise?

Well to be honest it's not really a great time to be buying/selling programmes as there is something else going on at the moment called Christmas, a kind of insanity that the whole country seems to join in. Have a mince pie and a glass of sherry, sit back and hopefully it'll all end soon.

Unless you're giving them away as Christmas presents, what does it matter? They'll come through in the next few days.

You need to relax a little bit guys...or you'll be getting bottles of 'Just for men' for christmas Wink Laughing
