I bought a 73 cup final ticket with an "unkown" signature on it.
It looks to me maybe (?) Ian Portefield, he always underlined his signature.
Compare it with the programme. What do others think?

You'll notice that the signature on the programme has two capital letters, the second is definitely a "P" It looks too short to be Porterfield but signatures are generally a scribble with only a few letters decipherable. The only other person involved in the match whose surname begins with that letter, including the management and officials is Richie Pitt another possible is Bobby Park who was also in the Sunderland squad. The signature on the ticket looks different to me.

Think you are correct re Mr Portefield, may be it was signed after the game with a little shaking of the hand ?.
