Pre-war FA Cup Final songsheets

Hi All,

What should one expect to pay for the FA Cup Final community singing sheets that you often find with the programmes, particularly ones from between 1927 to 1934? I'm still looking for a few from that time but am out of touch with the prices - any help with prices (or even offers of items) would be appreciated!

Ive only very rarely seen any pre-War FA Cup Final Song Sheet's so would think that you are talking around £80 or so even for the later 30's ones ......here is one for 1927 that went for £126.10 ( post included ) on E-Bay ...

footballprogrammes.com are asking for £60 just for a 1953 one, they dont have any pre war listed

Thanks for the reply. I've seen songsheets in catalogues and auctions from time to time - the late 30s ones have tended to sell for 30-50 pounds. Others both pre and post-war tend to go as a set with the programme and ticket so it's tough to know how the seller sees the breakdown. I'm keen to pick up the ones from 1928, 1929, 1930 and 1932 and had thought these would be worth around 50-80 pounds - I'd be happy to hear more on if this sounds about right or not. Cheers

Lookin at the 1927 one that went on E-Bay for £126.00 I would have thought that you would be very lucky indeed to pick any pre war up for anything near under the £100.000 mark . . . for the simple reason that there are not many around at all ...... I would have though therefore that £50 to £60 was way under what you would have to pay particularly the 1928 etc

Yes, originally I'd thought of that price range, but I guess perhaps 70-120 might be more accurate nowadays? I saw a well-described and good condition 1938 one sell on eBay for just over 30 pounds a month or two ago and 1927 was the first one, so I'd expect that to be the most expensive one unless there's a factor I don't know of. Was there one of these songsheets for the 1946 FAC Final? Never actually seen one for sale.

I only own those for the Amateur Cup Finals at Wembley but, yes, they look good ina display folder.

When did the comminity singalong thing stop, then? Into the 60s?

I would have thought the best place to find pre war Song Sheets was ( besides saving a search on E-Bay so that you get notified by an e-mail when one is listed ) to keep an eye on the following Auction sites ;
