Hi guys. I just wondered if there are any reprints floating around for this match ?
Mine is a sorry tale. I used to collect programmes when I was young, but stopped mainly around 1993. I went to the 1994 and 1996 Cup Finals, but never bought a programme.
It came as a big shock years later when I started to take an interest again, to see how much the 1996 ones were going for.
I am now tempted to invest in one (doesnt have to be mint), but Im worried about spending £40 odd on a fake. If there are any reprints floating around what am I looking for ?
Any help gratefully received.

Hi Mr Benn

I have a copy available via my website, can let you have it for £49 minus a 10% discount if you use the discount coupon 'progforum' during the checkout process.

It's in good condition and certainly isn't a fake, as pointed out I'm not aware of a re-print in existance.

They all sold out on the day, people were buying them to block the glare from the Liverpool players' suits!!

Hi guys. Well I finally bought one off ebay . It was described as being in excellent condition, but when Ive received Im not so sure. Just wonder what your thoughts are. I guess Im just finding my feet as I venture back into the world of programme collecting.
My main quibble is that there are a number of small white scuff marks to the top right area of the programme, and on the right handle of the Cup. They didnt show up on the photo he used for the advert . ( see below) I guess Im just not used to paying £22 for a programme (yes, I hear some of you laughing !) and expected slightly better, or maybe Im being picky ? I havent contacted the seller yet. I could do without the hassle to be honest.
They do seem to be selling for around mid to late £20's on ebay recently so the price has come down significantly. Maybe for the price I paid its condition is about right, just undecided how much more I would have to pay for a real 'excellent' condition one.
I do understand the 'dangers' of ebay . There was one that was desribed as being vgood condition and the picture showed it as being a mess, I dont know how he has the cheek - i wonder why it didnt sell.

Bigger image is the sellers photo, mine is a zoomed in.

I'm not 100% sure about this, somebody else might know the full story. But I was once told that most of the programmes for this cup final were somehow damaged in transit en route from the printers to the ground.

I dont think I have ever actually seen a mint copy myself.

For what you paid, I think thats a decent copy.

Mines pretty close to Mint but payed 3 Times that.

So £22.00 for your copy is good........In My Opinion.

For £22 you can't complain that's a bargain.

I looked and looked for a mint one of these and after about two years decided that I was never going to find a true mint one. Mine looks slightly better than yours but not much. I paid £25 so I think you did alright.

There is a really nice one on ebay at the moment but he wants £50 for it and as you have already found out pictures dont always tell the truth.

The story I heard re the programmes is that it was a low print run and therefore none made it to dealers so all that exist were sold on the day therefore all or nearly all with some match wear.

Smile I got a near mint copy along with some Welsh internationals and about 30 Cardiff City programmes for £2. The lady said she was glad to get rid of them !!!!!!!! Forgot to mention, got them from a local boot sale.

I still need that one. Looks like that is almost impossible to fiind mint as well due to the cover being completely black and showing up any tiny mark!
