Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum, came across it from google. Ok so I have been given over 600 football programmes dating back to the 50s,60s, 70s and a lot inbetween then and now. Most are wrexham programmes but are others aswel. Was passed onto my by the grandad who told my nana to give them me when I have my first child to sell. I alsa have loads of other stuff, like dinner tickets from the 70s with wrexham fc with special gusts like bob paisley and bill shankley who have signed the ticket, and many other names. Also football tickets from the 60s, 70s etc. Also many more things, I was just wondering what would be the best way to sell these? I don't really want to put on ebay as I would rather find out proper value etc. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance for the help Smile

Hi,

Welcome to the forum! If you have any 1950s programmes, it may be worth listing them on here to see if any members need them for their collections. Generally, 60s programmes and onwards are not worth much but there are some exceptions. Again, if you have a list of programmes, members on here could inform you of any potential gems.

I collect Derby programmes and would be interested in buying Wrexham v Derby 55/56 if you have it.

Hope this helps,

Steve

Why are you selling your first child ?? Very Happy
I don't suppose Wrexham v Grantham 1949/50 FA Cup is amongst that lot ?

Anything with Shankly and Paisley signed should easily go for best part of £100 these days. Do you have any old Liverpool tickets? The odd Wrexham programme can be rare but nothing of very high value from 60/70s. Look out for Wrexham tickets in Europe - they can get good prices - possibly £20-30+. 50s programmes for Wrexham should sell easily no problem. If I remember rightly the fa cup programmes v man utd and Leeds utd go for good prices. Hope this helps.

Cheers John

Thanks forthe replies guys, I haven't had a good look through yet, but will post up the programmes from the 50s later, will have a look if I have any liverpool tickets also. I've just looked and I also have autograph sheets from a few teams which seem to be 1959-1960 season, a few which look like photocopies are man utd, newcastle and chelsea. Others which look pen written are aston villa 1959-60, sheffield wednesday (don't know date) man city (don't know date but has bill haydocks autograph on it. And spurs 1959-60 season, would these be worth much?

Thanks again! Appreciate the help

If you have any reserves from the early to mid 1960's I'd be interested if they're against non league teams. They're single sheets so easy to see. Some Wrexham friendlies from around this era are fairly difficult to get hold of as well.

I've got 2 suitcases full, only got a few programmes with me now rest is at my dads, will add more once I've had a proper look. If there's any in particular let me know.

I've seen a wxm vs llandudno 1960 senior cup.
Will look for more.
Wxm reserves vs frickley colliery, wxm vs buxton, wxm vs sankey of wellington.

There's a wxm and district boys vs cardiff boys shield final? 1960 I think.
, will have a good sort out soon and list them all properly. If there's any certain ones let me know so I know to put it to one side if I come across it.

My advice would be to put them on ebay all starting at 99p.
That way if they don't sell it will cost you nothing and if you do have that one gem you will get a significant amount of money.
If you list them in batches of say 25 a week you will get an ebay following so will will genuinely find out what things are worth without going through them over and over and eventually wondering if you did the right thing and accepted a fair price.
There are some decent people on this forum who will give you good advice but just remember most are dealers and therefore, quite rightly, need to make a profit.
Equally there are some bedroom bandits on here who are just opportunists and prey on unsuspecting folk.
So far with the posts you have got the good guys but the bandits are hovering, believe me.
I am a Manchester United expert so have as much idea as you have over Wrexham but one odd ball Welsh cup match or one impossible to find reserve programme could well be in your inheritance and the real way to find out is ebay.
Any unsold items at 99p can be considered fodder which you might then like to bring back to this forum or more realistically just be looked at for pleasure with the knowledge that a family member once enjoyed them as well.
That is the romantic in me i'm afraid
By the way the Manchester United autographs are almost certainly a fascimile copy the club gave out to anybody who requested it.
Your Spurs autographs would be quite valuable if they came from 1960/61 season which was the Spurs double season.
Ebay is definately the place for them

£75 on here for the Manchester United cup game, therefore would suggest £40-£50 most other places, Leeds only played Wrexham in a Friendly, I think it was the late 1960's... It came up on eBay about 6 months ago, sure it went over £50, but not sure.... Will do some research.

To follow on:

Wrexham v Leeds 12/08/1964 was on a well known dealers list for £100.

Not quite it would make that amount, but will certainly go for £50+
