Info - Manchester United Vs Stoke City Feb 1947

About 4 or 5 years ago when I became new to collecting, I saw this programme sold on Ebay on auction and ended at around £1,800.

I know from research that the match was played at Maine Road on a Wednesday afternoon at 3pm and, because of the early weekday kick-off time, only around 8000 fans turned up - therefore the programme is quite scarce.

Can anyone give me any info as to the reason why the match kicked off at this time and where the programme stands amongst the 'Holy Grail' to United programme collectors. Do you have this programme?...How much did you pay for it?....How much would someone expect to pay for it now?

Going back to the one I saw on Ebay....I remember thinking that the seller musn't have realised the value of the programme because they were only offering 'standard postage' instead of something like 'special delivery'!

The last two I remember seeing on Ebay went for £2750 (Sept 2009) & £2700 (June 2012). Sports Programmes sold a copy for £1425 in 2008.

It is the only Stoke away programme I need from that season
