Hi

I've recently learnt that Colchester designated one of their league games in 2008/09 as being the official opening of the stadium, long after the first friendly, first league game etc.

Please does anyone have details of this game, and just as importantly, a spare copy!

At least it was in the same season, Huddersfield's "official" opening was at the start of the season after they'd moved in which caught me out!

the first league game they played there was on 16th August 2008, a 0-0 draw with Huddersfield town in front of 5,340

Thanks WeymouthPIE, but that item is the first league game which I already have.

As per my post, that was not the "official" opening I'm told.

seems a bit strange for the first league game not to be the official opening of the stadium Confused

Just done some googling and found that the official opening was v Bristol Rovers on 04/10/2008.

So, has anyone got one of that issue spare please ?

You are correct, the 'Official Opening' was a League One game against Bristol Rovers played on the 4/10/2008. A scan of the programme front cover can be found here -
