Only just over a fortnight to go now to the first Fair at Blundell Park for a long while.

Dealers in attendance are Gordon Bennett (coming up all the way from Plymouth!) Steve Harding, Mick Hewitt, Barrie Kirk (Grimsby Town specialist) Dave Johnson, and myself. LCFC Matt will also be having a stall there with binders and badges.

Bar will be open on the day, and it kicks off at 11am, and full time is at 2pm. We're the only fair that appears to be on during the day so why not pop along? There will be something for everybody, absolutely no doubt about that with the quality of the dealers we have going.

For your delectation, the dealers at the Mighty Mariner's Fair next Sunday include

GORDON BENNETT - who's travelling all the way up from Plymouth - and his stock includes over 1,000 Grimsby Town home and aways from 1945-46 to date; Cup Finals and Internationals back to the early 1950's; and an excellent selection of 1940's and 1950's English League.

STEVE HARDING - good selection of all Lincolnshire clubs from 1950 onwards; huge selection of reserves; English league programmes from the 1930's onwards; 1950's big match; handbooks etc.

MICK HEWITT - will be having Grimsby 1940's onwards; big match; Olympic football; rare European Finals; Leeds (of course) badges, current season, premiership, and much, much, more.

JOHN HOLROYD - 1940's and 50's non league vs league in FACup (see my PM articles) Scottish league and non league 1940's onwards; nice selection of Grimsby programmes from 1940's and 50's; some nice friendlies; big match with tickets back to the 1940's; large selection of 1940's English league and cup.

DAVE JOHNSON - large selection of English league programmes 1930s onwards; Man Utd 1957-8 Munich season; FAC Finals back to 1948 plus tickets; European, non league and others.

BARRIE KIRK - has all things Grimsby Town from pre WW2 memorabilia and programmes right up to the present day. It it's anything Grimsby you're after, Barrie's your man.

MATT LCFC will be there with his binders and badges.

GRIMSBY TOWN FAN'S TRUSTwill also have stall with donated items on.

Should be something for everybody there! If you are going, please don't forget to say hello and introduce yourself on the day.

Gutted to be mising the fair at Fortress Blundell.

Unfortunately, we have to play away at Millmoor Juniors in the Sheffield and District Sunday League U8s match of the day. Smile

Would normally have been at Cleethorpes for the weekend so its a double blow.

Wishing everyone involved, has a good day, and here's hoping its a success and will become an annual event on the fair calender

Regards, Sharrowblade

I'll email Barrie for you as I don't like giving out private email details without the owner's consent.

Thanks John, it's much appreciated, i've been after both programmes for years, the programme for the match at Grimsby is a rare 4-page issue, if he has either available i would make an astronomical offer,

regards,

Robert

Laughing

Unfortunately John, I'm the manager. It's not going to wash with the parents if I'm asking for commitment from them and their offspring, if I then I don't turn up. Especially for this fixture. I've got to organize the kit, the medical bag, the teamsheets, the match balls, the registration cards, the meeting time etc etc, and deal with any scouts from the local professional clubs who come to watch, and that's before I've even started with the lads, themselves.

If we had been playing at home it wouldn't have been an issue as we play our home games on saturday, and I would have gladly trundled along the M180 to our caravan and into Blundell park on sunday morning. Alas, it's not to be, which is a shame because I would have liked a butchers at the Blades reserves.

Here's hoping it's a success, it would be great if it became a permanent fixture on the fair calender.

Best regards sharrowblade

I've just had my first batch of A4 binders delivered! Smile

Same style as my other binders but BIGGER!
They are also suitable for the square style programmes.

See them FIRST at the Grimsby Town programme fair before they go on sale on my website.

Ah Clive, but there lies the dilemma.

One of the main reason's I like to go to the fairs is that it enables me to have a first hand look at the ware's on offer, and when present, he, off the smiley face, Bazza baggies. Smile

Just a few more of the items I'll be taking.

If you read Programme Monthly, I'll be taking a good number of 30's, 40's and 50's club handbooks as listed in the series of articles I did on them.

Ditto with my current series on non league in the FACup proper, with over 150 pre 1960's issues, with many rarities.
