Aston Villa v Northampton December 1944

I have a programme dated 25th December 1944. However the Northampton history book I am using doesn't seem to record the game in the results. There is one for 23rd December but says the Cobblers were at home.

Does anyone know what happened with this game. Was it played, when, what was the score & attendance? Is the book I have slightly wrong or has the game been completely omitted.
Any help would be appreciated.

ASTON VILLA Season 1944-5
1944 Dec 16th Northampton home.. 5-2
1944 Dec 23rd Northampton away .. 3-2
1944 Dec 30th Northampton away .. 0-2
1945 March 3rd Northampton home ..2-2.

The Christmas day fixture is advertised in the Dec 16th programme for the war league cup but not played until March.

The match was Postponed due to Fog.

Thanks for your help. Just looked at other records from the time and the temperature didn't get above 0 degress C around Christmas 1944.
