The biggest programme fair of the year takes place on Saturday 2nd June 2012 when the annual Premier Programme Fair is staged at London’s Royal National Hotel, Bedford Way WC1H 0DG 11am – 4pm.

Since the event moved the Royal National in 2010 the attendance has been a consistent 700/750 collectors which is by far the biggest fair attendance in the UK. The number of dealers exhibiting continues to rise and this year will exceed 35. In a few days time I will announce plans of how I intend to increase those exhibiting to over 40. To the best of my knowledge this will be the largest gathering of dealers at a fair ever though I would stand to be corrected. I would urge all forum members to make the effort to come along.

As well as adding to your collection and chatting/putting faces to the names of the dealers, the fair represents an excellent opportunity to meet fellow collectors and forum members for a chat/swop/drink etc… The hotel has a bar and there are numerous restaurants in the vicinity and at the nearby Euston/Kings Cross stations. How about forum members arranging a meeting at the fair?

I have listed the participating dealers so far below (in no particular order) with a brief stock summary. I have also included their email addresses should anyone wish to make contact for particular requests.
D G Taylor – Lymington based Dorian is one of the few remaining ‘catalogue producing’ dealers in the business. Fine stock of vintage programmes covering all clubs though QPR, Bournemouth and Accrington Stanley a speciality! [email protected]

I have wanted to attend this event for a number of years but being based in Lancashire it's not exactly on the doorstep. However this is going to be the year. Thanks to a cheap rail offer of £26.00 return from Manchester albeit needing to leave home at 6am I will be making my first day trip to London since Bolton Wanderers won at Spurs in October 2004.How exciting.

Hi All,
As a stall holder one of the problems is knowing what to take! If I take Arsenal people ask for Spurs etc. etc. so if anyone is looking for anything specific please let me know and i'll bring it on the day.
Feel free to e-mail me on: [email protected]
Look forward to seeing you there.
Barry

When competing against a lot of dealers you need to take something different.. The first punter in last year asked me if I had any Montrose programmes. Shocked

Sadly I won't be there, i'll be in Carcassonne watching Rugby. Hopefully i'll get down to this one year though, looks a good one.

Also if anybody is travelling down and needs a footy fix, England are playing Belgium at Wembley later that day. Pretty sure tickets are still available.

a request to all dealers.....please bring your tickets but don't chuck them all into a big box.

Some dealers are excellent but others say they have tickets but at home. Others just throw them into a box and say sort through that lot. Much appreciated.

Thought i'd give a quick write up of my visit to the Premier Programme Fair today.

As normal there was a crowd of collectors/enthusiasts/anoraks awaiting the 11am opening time.
As far as I could see all the dealers/stall holders listed previously in this thread were present.

Each stall holder proved to be friendly and happy to answer any requests from the punters. Had several chats with Clive, he must of been sick of the sight of me come midday.... Spoke to Steve (poshimp on here?), Clive being posh1959. Also had a good natter with Kevin Trivvet who always has time for a catch up and always pleased to see you. A few lovely Chelmsford pre-war on his backboard too.
Ian Hands had several of the much talked about Gillingham pre-war programmes on his backboard.
DGS programmes had more binders full of programmes than some collectors have programmes and with prices slashed due to retirement seemed to always attract a swarm of punters.
Chris Williams of Sporting Gold had a few of his unsold auctions items for sale.
Obviously many more dealers at the fair and I really couldn't do their efforts justice....

I managed to spend a small fortune on 7 programmes, all from the same dealer and no surprises that this was from Michael Hewitt, whom had a stunning array of programmes both on his backboard and in the boxes on the stall - some eye watering prices too!!
Mick, like most fairs had a constant stream of customers willing to part with their hard earned pennies...

All in all a very good visit - even the misses said she had a good day..........

For anyone that went, I was the "Skinny" bloke in the pink polo and black shorts.

Razz Razz Razz

Ah ha, would have introduced myself mate if I had made the connection.

The Chelsea pre-war was in lovely condition and if I had deeper pockets and a shorter wants list I would have snapped it up at the price you offered....

Did you pick up any gems?

Like I said previously, spent a wedge of cash on just 7 programmes - at least 3 were 3 figures Shocked

The wants list is down to a mere 41 now Crying or Very sad
