This is the sort of person who gets sellers a bad name on Ebay. Reason they do it is so they sell the prog cheap and make the money up in p/p charges, Ebay then dont get so much in Final Value Fees. ps if I was selling it on Ebay I would charge about £1.25 p/p.

That was the main reason I stopped buying off ebay years ago (Reluctantly I have gone back to continue the search for the grail!!). The price you list a programme for should be the minimum price you expect to sell it for. Ebay need to do something about it, perhaps have p+p prices along the lines of Amazon, but not as expensive?

Do what I do on ebay - write and ask them how they can possibly justify such ridiculous prices.
On the likes of Amazon and ABE books, I've managed to negotiate postage prices dwon for items such as programmes that are all listed at about £3.40 each.

Have just won 2 Leeds progs from the 1950's on eBay, both listed on their own. Each charging £2.50 p&p. Thought I would get a reduction in p&p. No such luck, invoice arrived in my inbox with a lovely £5.00 bill for p&p.

Have questioned this and have waited at least 2 days for a reply, funnily enough the invoice came alot quicker!!!

Will wait a another day or so then will name and shame on here.

Make sure you send cheque off for one programme with £2.50 postage. Wait for said programme to arrive, then send the other one. It'll piss the vendor off. It'll also knock a chunk out of the greedy grabbing bastard's profits as well if he has to physically post twice instead of once. Let them know exactly why you're doing it as well, and let him know that you will ensure his feedback reflects their shabby practice. Viva la revolution! When you do the feedback, make sure you give the twat one star only in all aspects.

Another option is if paying by Paypal, send 2 separate payments this way they will have to pay more to Paypal, because they are classed as separate items.

Anyone else with similar ideas as to how to make such greedy twats pay for their actions? The more such ideas become mainstream, the more we may be able to change things.
As an earlier member said, I think one thing I think we ought to have is a "name and shame" section on here. If most Forum users then put any named sellers onto their ebay favourite sellers lists, they can be bombarded with emails about their practice each time they try and sell something. If we pass on such details to other collectors it could really become something. I doubt there would be too many sellers out there would like to receive such emails every time they put something on ebay?????

You can report people that are charging too much to ebay. Just do it the items that the seller is listing that you dont want.

Ebay do take the listings down. I reported a guy who was charging over £3 p and p for used ticket stubs!!

That's interesting Paulo, I didn't know you could do that. I just vowed that one day I would track each and every one of 'em down and pay 'em back for all the excess p+p charges!

Have now paid for the programmes seperately. I now await for the programmes to arrive from the gold covered carrier pigdeons which will obviously be wrapped in pure silk.

Perhaps there will be a refund for the over inflated cost of postage within the package!!!

Here goes.... (As promised)

Two (yep just 2) 1950's programmes being sent for the grand cost of £5.00. (standard postage by the way)

The seller in question....

ESSEXWHITES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shame as the guy has some good items, my hard earned cash wont be going in that direction any time soon.

Here's a stotter....custarddoughnutlover...in "collections" on ebay. Advertising "4 vintage Portsmouth programmes" (which turn out to be 4 non desript 60's homes @£14 minimum bid, plus "standard postage" rate £5. The guy's not of the philanthropist bent, methinks.

Here's another joker.....Supersmar4t!! He's listing progs at 99p, and p+p charges are £3.50!!!! I emailled him, pointing out that his p+p charges were a bit high, and that I would charge about £1, he emailled back, and said that those were his prices and he thought that was fair. If he was posting both the teams from that game, I still don't think the postage would come to that!! Paulo, what was it you said about reporting people on there with high p+p charges?

ALL - You can report the seller who is overcharging for P&P to ebay, who should withdraw the auction.

Go to report item and then go through the menu selecting "listing policy breaches" and then "circumvention of ebay listing fees".

I have done it a few times and ebay have taken the item down.
