Cardiff City home programme - 1920/1

Does anyone have a Cardiff City home from season 1920/1.

If so does the cover show date and opponent or other specific details or is it a generic cover that could relate to any game from that season?

This is the programme cover from 1921-22. The cover was the same in 1914-15 and 1919-20. I presume that the 1920-21 cover was also similar.....

Thanks corneli for such a swift response.

So the only specifics are the date and programme number.

Was the advert the same throughout all these seasons?

And did the cover have any colour or was it black and white?

Just done a bit more research.

There appears to be at least 2 differents covers for 1921/2 and the 1919/20 cover has a different ground view so this doesn't really help to confirm the cover for the 1920/1 season.

Does anyone have a 1920/1 Cardiff home?

Did you find my Flickr page? The other 1921-22 cover on there is actually a pirate programme that was issued for a number of games that season. I still think the 1920-21 cover will be similar to 1919-20 and 1921-22, though which view of the ground it might be I'm not sure.

I am sure the cover for 1920/1 will be very similar to 19/20 and 21/2 but I am still hoping someone may have a 20/1 season programme to confirm the ground view.

I used to have loads from the 20s and they are all like the ones on Alan's site. The colour of the cover varied in shade but generally maintained the same format until the 1930s and then there were larger format issues with differing styles of cover.

I am aware of a few bound volumes that have been around recently which have benn split up and sold and resold. Normally in that era covers were removed for binding as it made it easier, and made the volume thinner too. The ones from this season (20/1) have been advertised in various places recently and they are all pretty much the same, with missing covers. Cardiff pre War home normally sell for approximately £100+ with reserves less. I see a number on eBay at the moment and they are mainly sans cover too.

This is what prompted my original post.

There was a Blackpool 1920/1 without a cover for sale which I was tempted to buy and then try and get a copy of a cover from that season if it didn't have too many specific references to a particular game and that I could adapt.

But I still have not seen an actual 1920/1 programme cover to confirm the ground view let alone get a copy.
