Football Programme Centre are pleased to have teamed up with a manufacturer of high quality programme binders.

The binders contain 15 polythene sleeves with a black paper divider in each allowing the binder to display up to 30 programmes face out.

They are available in Red, Royal Blue, Black or Maroon and come with a free professionally printed gold on black label to affix to the spine.

Currently we have available;
Binders for A4 (297mm high x 210mm wide) programmes - £14.99
Binders for 245mm high x 180mm wide programmes - £12.99

The costs above include P&P and represent the best value binders currently on the market. Programme Monthly sell similar programme binders for £19 and £15 (including P&P also) so you are saving around 25% and they also only have a very very limited stock remaining.

All orders will take around 2 weeks to process and you can start placing your orders below and i will contact you over the weekend to arrange payment.

They look like modernbookbinders products to me

http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380096881155

My only problem with these binders, is that you may sometimes get an 'off-size' programme from one or two clubs a season, which throughs out the whole minimum size, you then end up storing in multiple locations for the same season !!

Craig, just a quick question.

The polythene sleeves in each of these, are they acid free sleeves?

Also, do these come included with the labels specified to your wishes?

Yes they are indeed Modern Book binders ones and they are indeed excellent. I do believe they are acidic free but i will confirm this on Monday.

Paulo, I have a couple of binders which were sent as samples. I shall check them out and report back but i have only ever read good reviews about Modern Bookbinders.

Barrett, They come with labels to your specificiation and you can have up to 3 lines of text with 9 characters on each line.

Sadly I have 70 A4 folders to store my programmes, I guess it will be quite expensive to replace them with smaller ones

Any other solutions out there ?

Grantham,

It has come to my attention that the price i have been offered these direct from Modern Bookbinders is not on a par with what they are selling to other parties for. I will be in touch with them monday to see if we can renegotiate rates and if not i will continue to look for other sources.

Just an update for Paulo regarding the material of the sleeves.

They are polythene (polythylene) which is acidic free. For archival purposes this is completely safe and is the second best material available.

I found this on a site regarding storage of posters/comics;

Quote:
For medium or long-term storage I would highly recommend buying some mylar or poly (polyethylene or polypropylene) sleeves for keeping your posters in. These not only prevent mild accidental surface damage such as finger prints or scratches, but also provide an inert acid-free environment for your poster thus reducing any potential paper degradation. They are ideal for flat, rolled or folded posters.

Protective sleeves come in a variety of sizes and materials, with prices to match. There are two main materials that you'll come across:

* Polyethylene or Polypropylene - Ideal for short-medium term storage. Although not strictly archival safe, these sleeves will do a great job of protecting your collection for more years than you'll probably be collecting. They also 'breath' which means that any moisture trapped inside the sleeve can leave without you having to open it up.

* Mylar (polyester) - Ideal for short-long term storage. Mylar is totally inert which means that anything placed inside will never be adversely affected by the surrounding material. Mylar is also crystal clear which means you can easily display your collection without removing any posters from their sleeves. Mylar sleeves are used by libraries and archives around the world, so you can rest assured that even the most expensive posters are safe inside.

Im awaiting a call back from the director, Warren i think. My email wasnt replied to so i chased them up with a phone call. Spoke to one of the people in the know about the materials etc and he told me they were very good for archival goods. Once i knew the type of things to google i had a further search and i agree they are good quality. Sadly he wasnt in a position to discuss prices so im waiting on another call to see if members of FPC can get a better deal.

Not really, sadly. This is the response i have received when mentioned that some people have already received binders for a lot less than the deal we have been offered.

Quote:
We may have sold some other types of binders or old stock for £5 each in the past.We have now looked closely at the costs.The materials have also risen in cost recently.We could give dicounts on larger quantites.We have also had a few customers who have spent more than £1000 on binders.

So no budging there sadly on the prices we can get them for. What i can do though is offer slight discount on orders of over 4 binders;

A4 (297mm high x 210mm wide) Binders- £14.99 first 4, £11.99 there after.
245mm high x 180mm wide Binders - £12.99 first 4, £9.99 there after.

Paulo,

The binders would not fit 30 of todays modern programmes in. I have one stood up nicely with 15 of Cardiffs current programmes (about 68 pages) nicely packed inside at 1 per sleeve. They do look very very good!!

May have to give these a miss, as going from 2 binders to 4 just to accomdate a 55+ season will be VERY expensive, may give them a try for my older progs though

That seems like a bargain. Do they not really cope with anything modern? I cant picture what they would be like so will have to pop into staples soon.
