The latest time for payment for the postal discount was Tues 21st at 9am so that will mean they were posted Tuesday morning/afternoon.

I don't think the posties are attempting to deliver around here, i have had nothing since Friday and can't see PM arriving until next week.

Nope! I'm sure the previous edition claimed that it would arrive in time for Christmas.

Am I in a minority of folk who haven't subscribed to it for donkey's years, because of the banality of the editor's programmes for sale taking up page after page after page, costing the punters excess postage, and having excess space compared to that received when paying for an advert??

I stopped my subscription about 2 years ago and now pick up the PM from Almondvale programmes. Cannot remember the last time I made an offer for a programme.. Still a lot of good reading in the articles however in my opinion making it worth £2.50 a month.

This month's PM without the advert section is 72 pages including front and reverse covers.

The pull out advert section has 88 pages of which around 56 are PM's own adverts for programmes, binders, back issues, books, databases etc.

There's a notice on page 59 that says so far there has been no offer to relieve the editor "of the burden of delivering this publication to you every month."

Just think what could be done with PM - an improved website (maybe an option to submit adverts via this), fewer pages of adverts which would bring the cost of magazine/postage down etc.

If I had more more collecting experience/contacts in the hobby it's something I may consider. But for now it's back to teaching kids!

No idea, I just want my copy to arrive. I actually enjoy reading it.

(although I agree the individual advert supplement seems completely unnecesary these days)

I agree it could be a whole lot better than it is, and I've pointed that out several times on here.

However, if nobody steps forward to offer help or take the magazine over, then we just have to accept that what we have now is the best it's going to be.

Maybe it could be improved with more people contributing interesting articles?

But why should people contribute articles that generate profit and receive no remuneration or the like for their efforts? PM is a business. How many other businesses do you know where the supply chain gives it's expertise and goods to the seller for free? I gave up contributing articles a long long while ago when it became patently obvious to me.

Obviously we disagree on this, but do you ken of any journalists who work for nothing? No, they write because they're paid to do so, the organization they work for generates profit. If it was a free sheet I wouldn't have a problem with writing for it, same as we give information for free on here. Surely, providing articles for a nationally read magazine that generates profit should do similar, or the like, like free advertising for contributors?
