Everyone likes a flutter on The Grand National.

Some people do it for the winnings, some for the fun of it, some because they have had 'inside info'.

So lets share who we are backing, any tips, information or general chit chat about The Greatest Steeplechase in the world!

Personally each year I get told 2 or 3 horses outside the favourite's that have a great chance and normally just 1 sticks out.

2 years ago I had Silverburch at 25/1 and got a few mates on it. Was made up with that.

This year there are 3 I can't choose between...

Irish Invader
Comply or Die
State of Play

I need to get my bets on early as the odds are falling each day!

I have also heard a tip for a horse called Hibernian or something like that. Not running in the main race but on the same day. Can't seem to find it though.

Good topic Barrett!

I am on Kilbeggan Blade which I got 27/1 on yesterday. Dont know too much about horses but a few mates have mentioned this one, so have taken the plunge. I do however have a pretty decent record in this race, so fingers crossed!

The only year I went was the year the IRA tried to blow it up,spent the night in a sports centre in Toxteth, next morning the coppers got us up around six and moved us to a school in Fazakerley were we was treated to spaghetti and bread great time though.Remember being in the gym of the sports centre and they turned the lights off every so often somebody would break wind and everyone would giggle like kids.

It actually came 4th. Load of shite.

Should never have doubted Walkon though, what a horse.

Denman in the next race. May be too short to back though?

Denman fell. What a day of surprises for me!

Also sad news about Exotic Dancer. Had a heart attack after the race and had to be put down.

So who had what then?

I picked out Mon Mome in the sweep in work so happy with that. Very Happy

Also had State of Play to win, thought it was the place I put down so just missed out with that.

Been saying Comply or Die all week and didn't put a bloody bet on him!

Also had Irish Invader which finished just outside the places and decided to put a few quid on Kilbeggan Blade after Paulo mentioned him.

Didn't turn out to bad in the end. Won a few quid back from my sweep in work so i'm happy with that.

Nothing at all for me this year! Even my sweep horse fell early on! Sorry you wasted a few quid on my tip Barrett!

I also backed Hear The Echo.
Started well but began to fade near the finish.
Just checked where it finished and heard it had a heart attack and died.
Sad

Didn't realise it had died!

That's the downside to Horse Racing.
