Looking at this photo of a FA Cup tie Spurs v Leeds Jan 1954 ,it makes you wonder how the like of Matthews and Finney could display their outstanding skills during that era ? Mind you, l do watch quite a bit of youth football and some kids ( unless they have got an all weather set up) are still in 2025 trying to play the game on these bogs.
