1945/6 Line ups - Help needed.

Can anyone help me fill in the following line ups against Chesterfield please ?

15/09/1945 Manchester United.
17/09/1945 Blackburn Rovers.
29/12/1945 Blackburn Rovers.
19/04/1946.Bolton Wanderers.
08/05/1946 Sheffield United (Chesterfield Hospiital Cup).

29/09/1945 Sunderland. Name of referee.
09/01/1946 York City (FAC). Name of referee.

Hi Nigel

I have an official record for Blackburn in my stock boxes so I took a look for you, but not a great deal of help I'm afraid.

Only a few players are actually named in the line ups - Maybe that the others were "guest" players due to the war?

Anyway, here's what I found.

17/9/45 - 8 Peters, 9 Chapman, 10 Bibby

29/12/45 - 4 Whiteside

Team in the programme. No changes noted. A goalscorer is, for Man U, so there's a good chance this was the line up that played.

I've had this sent to me by a member who cannot log in to this site, so thanks to Howard (bluebird 54)

teams as follows other than Blackburn already given;

Man Utd-Crompton, Walton, Roughton, Cockburn,Whalley, Chilton,Bryant, Warner, Landers, Mycock, Wrigglesworth.
Several changes from the programme on the other site, not surprising given the travel and leave problems at the time. Bryant was the scorer.
Sheffield United- Smith, Furness, Cox, Machent, Latham, Forbes, Rickett, Nightingale, Thompson. C M, Brook, Jones.

Bolton- the team given by Burnden seems to be for the game on the 22nd April, according to the complete record the team for the 19th was;
Hanson, Hamlett, Hubbick, Howe, Atkinson, Forrest, Geldard, Moir, Lofthouse, Westwood, Woodward.

Unable to find refs for the two games mentioned I. e York and Sunderland.

This has enabled us to complete all the missing 1945/6 season opponents line ups on Chesterfields "Sky is Blue" history site.
We are now complete from 1945 to date.

Just confirming FIVE AND IN is correct I give you the line up for the game on the 22-4-46 (put the ruler on the wrong line)
So the line FIVE AND IN give is the correct line up for the 19-4-46 game
