I've never had an 80% discount on sales fees. My discount is usually 70% which normally starts at the beginning of the month. I thought it was the same for everybody. Don't know why the difference - maybe down to turnover?
A while back I had this problem - received the email, but the link didn't work. When I phoned eBay, they said it was a glitch and the promotion went ahead eventually.
Also, a few years ago, eBay reduced free listings to 100 per month. It didn't last long, so let's see how long the current changes last. |

Screenshot doesn't appear to upload correctly......my last 70% offer started 6th September and the ones before that similar. So I have not been expecting one this week. |
It's normally every 2 weeks so there should have been an offer this weekend. _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |

Check your offers history. As stated, my last 2 offers have come early August and early September. Before that, yes, they were more frequent. I am personally expecting one maybe another week or two. Let's see. In the meantime - I've just been looking at price increases for Royal Mail next month. A lot of people are in for a bit of a shock, I think. |

I received them every 2 weeks like clockwork. Hopefully just a blip and not them removing the offer. _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |

Just to update about October's postage increases by Royal Mail - it's not so straightforward. Some prices are actually going up, some down. It looks like Large Letter customers are ok, apart from Special Delivery. |

I am familiar with the Tracked 48 service and I have used it. My problem is that I purchase my stamps in bulk and these cannot be used for that service - it is online or from the post office only. I guess I will need to be looking into that. |

Something else odd on eBay. On Thursday I bought 2 photos for £7.99 each, seller had more going through over the weekend so I asked him to wait before invoicing so if I won more we could combine them all together. He missed that message and invoiced me for £15.98 but apologised and said no rush to pay. So far so good.
Subsequently on Friday I had 2 emails from eBay asking me to pay the invoice, saying I should pay £12.24 for each one to complete the purchase. I had the same message again this evening.
I just don't understand where they got that figure from. It certainly wasn't accounting for postage as seller posts free.
But I paid £15.98 anyway as with free postage it makes no difference to me or seller. But I am puzzled as to what eBay is up to. |

Those are automated emails. As you had an agreement with the seller, eBay would not have penalised you for late payment. No idea about the discrepancy in amounts. |

The automated email payment amounts have been off for months. I think it's todo with the emails using an exchange rate, but then displaying the amount in GBP. I've had this as far back as April _________________ www.programmehut.com - The Internet Dealers

I take the following from the eBay website:
Reminding buyers to pay
After a buyer wins an auction or commits to buy an item, we send emails reminding them to pay for the order 24 hours and 48 hours after the listing ended. You can also get in touch with your buyer to remind them. |

I am not familiar with the Global Shipping Programme because I don't use it, but maybe there is some complication with that even though free postage was specified? |

I've been using eBay for 25 years and have had thousands of payment reminders over the years, usually when I'm waiting for all sellers' items to complete. But this has never happened before.
The seller said the £4.25 differential between the actual price and eBay's email price is equivalent to his overseas shipping price, which suggests that for some reason eBay must think I've emigrated.
Anyway, it's all sorted but I wonder if it'll happen again or to anyone else. Thanks all. |

eBay sometimes gets muddled on your location so that would probably explain the difference in price in the reminder - when actually sending payment though I've never seen any issues so the right amount would be taken |

That's interesting. Confirmed on eBay website. Says it applies already. That definitely puts an end to the 70% discount which I would have expected this coming weekend. EBay doesn't clarify if buyers are going to pay charges which is relevant. Thanks for the post. |
