Can anyone please let me know which was Tonbridge's "last match" played at the Angel ground in the late 1970s?
Many thanks.

The last game was on the 21st January 1980, a 2-2 draw against Hounslow. The last goalscorer was appropriately called Mickey Angel. These rest of the season was played out on various grounds. If you google the question it will bring up the information above. Hope this helps.

Hi Leigh. Agree with everything that Bluebird has stated except that the score was apparently 1-1 against Houslow with Micky Angel scoring. The date is correct at 21st January 1980, in a Southern League Southern Division game. The attendance was 213.
The details can be found on 'Angels Online Archieve'. Hope this is of some help to you.

The book “before the cemetry end” has a nice photo of the old stand at Tonbridge - apparently Kent played cricket there before WW2

Both “the cemetry end” & “before…” have fantastic ground photos - a great coffee table book but a stark reminder of how many football grounds have been lost
