Newport County v Manchester United, FA Cup.

Because of our replay with Eastleigh in R3, there wasn't time to get quality enamel badges produced ready for the match, so Duncan Jardine had these plastic dome badges hurriedly made. All 250 sold out quickly on the day, so, thankfully he's now getting some quality versions produced too, for the connoisseurs & collectors amongst us.

Yes, I was proud of the spirit we showed, just a pity we couldn't hold out for a lucrative replay mate. For a club whose summer budget was 92nd out of 92 league clubs though, we continue to punch well above our weight. So, along with the desperately needed £500k earned, there were plenty of positives gleaned.

Match badge from Everton away last night



I was very happy to have time before the game to again visit the church hall above St Luke's to browse the phenomenal memorabilia market they have there. Everton Historical Society do a cracking job and I always come away with a carrier bag full of old treasure!

I sincerely hope that they manage to secore some sort of similar location near the new ground when they move grounds in 2025

On a related note it will also be a huge loss for lovers of classic old grounds when Goodison is gone - enjoy it while you can, try and make a visit (or an extra visit), bring your camera and soak it all up!

Appreciate inserts aren't to most people's liking, but the hobby is slowly receding so have to get them where you can

Once in a blue moon you go to a 'big 6' club ground and get a result, then you feel on top of cloud nine!

NB - I also saw longstanding badge seller Joe by the Paisley gates - he now has a table!!
