Just saw this on twitter. An Ipswich fan has acquired what is thought to be the earliest ITFC programme to service

Hi Derek

Can you confirm who they were playing?

I know they had regular fixtures against my old school (Framlingham College) - be interested to know if they were the opposition

OK I can see now - it was Ipswich AFC v Ipswich School in the final of the Suffolk Association Cup at Portman Road, March 1887

If you google search for images "Ipswich programme 1887" then you can see it is the first result displayed

This programme has been known about for a long time - it was mentioned in Programme Monthly 30+ years ago

Strictly speaking it's not an Ipswich home programme as they didn't use Portman Road as their home ground until a couple of seasons later

Thanks for reply. On twitter @jamesagar91 there are also pictures of medals, team photo and Portman road ground prospectus from same period if anyone is interested in old Ipswich stuff.
