Clubs/etc v Great Britain Olympic XI (1948-71) - programmes?

Below is what I understand to be a complete list of the games played in these isles by the Great Britain side from the war to end of amateurism.

Mixture of qualifiers; preparation and trial games v club sides and a few representative teams; and of course the London 1948 tournament itself.

Many definitely have programmes - including every qualifier AFAICS.


However does anyone know if programmes were issued for these?

I believe that there is possibly one more

10 October 1955 - QPR v England Olympic XI

However, this is down as "England Olympic XI" in the records and not "GB" and thus may have been a pre-cursor to the team that was selected for the 1956 Melbourne games. So, not sure if that should be included.

There were several trials in autumn 1955 fulfilled by England amateur XI:

13 Sep 1955 Arsenal v England Prog
26 Sep 1955 West Ham v England Prog
08 Oct 1955 North & South Counties v England
10 Oct 1955 QPR v England Prog
17 Oct 1955 Luton v England Prog

Accordingly they were billed "England Amateur" or similar and not GB:

Hi,

There are definitely programmes for the two games against Watford in 1968 as I own both, sorry I don't have a scan for you though.

It doesn't come up on eBay that much, but you should be able to pick up for under £ 20 if it does.

For the game against Watford in 1960 in Uxbridge, I've only heard of one programme in existence for this game. Unfortunately, not in my collection.

I'm pretty certain there is a programme for the 67 game in Dublin. Unfortunately my copy is 120 miles away and not accessible until after lockdown.

I can picture it in my head green and white cover but have a slight doubt I'm mistaking it for another programme. Maybe somebody can confirm.

Ascertained that GB v Uganda (1956) had a standard-looking Ilford issue.

Charlton v GB on 11 Sep 1967 also confirmed.
