Does anybody know how long it is before you get paid on items you've sold in Sportingold's auctions?

I believe the payment day to the seller is no later than 40 days after the auction but in my experience it is usually closer to the 40th day, I hope this helps.

My experience is that the cheque usually arrives 6 weeks and 1 day after the auction.

I suppose it depends on how quickly the buyers pay. If you had six items that went to six different people, then I doubt they could release funds until all six have paid up.

It's normally the rules of the auction house that determine when you get paid, not the different amount of bidders. Sportingold are usually six weeks as previously mentioned.

Looking at this from the other end, as a buyer they are a superb house to deal with.

Easy viewing the day before with a cup of tea; prompt issuing of invoice; 20.4% commission which is fair these days; postage at inhouse franking cost + £3 packing; immediate despatch on receipt of payment.

I've never sold anything at auction (since 2000 anyway) and so can only speak as I find them as buyer.

I totally agree with Pete, in my experience the service from Sportingold as either a buyer or seller is first class.
