The next Programme & Memorabilia Fair that I am organising is the 6th Annual Great West Programme & Memorabilia Fair, which will again this year be held in the Bristol Room, BRISTOL ROVERS FC, Memorial Stadium, Filton Avenue, BS7 0BF, on Sunday MARCH 18, 2018 (10.30am-1.30pm).

The decision last year to switch this event to the Rovers' ground led to the largest attendaance at any of the fairs I organise in the West Country with many collectors coming from South Wales as well as from the South West.

It's a spacious venue, so if any additional dealers or collectors with surplus stock to sell wish to take stalls, please let me know: [email protected].

Thanks for your assistance, Andy, in publicising the advert.
This advert only appeared in the West Country Sunday Independent newspaper, which has quite a restricted circulation.
How did you get a copy of the paper up there in Stoke-on-Trent?

I am aiming to be there. Was a good event last year and I picked up a few gems for my collection.

A change in my plans for the weekend also means that http://nwmfootball.com/ will now be there too - please make contact no later that Thursday if there are any items from my general lists you need.

Will be the usual mix of Big Match from the 1940's onwards, pre-1960 Football League/pre-1970 Non League, Classic Magazines, shirts, books, laminated posters and other assorted bits & pieces.....hopefully a little something for everyone !

The list of traders at this Sunday's Fair has now been finalised. We again have a good selection of traders. We are grateful for the loyal support of our regulars: Mark Addicott, Tony and Roger Coombs, Martin Lane and Tom Roe. We also welcome five stall-holders making their debuts at this event: Lee Hermitage, Alistair Loffley, Tristan Savage, Steve Smyth and Graham White. I'm not sure how many are Forum members, although I do know Lee Hermitage, Martin Lane and Tristan Savage are Furum members.

Here's the full details of each trader, together with their contact details to assist collectors to make additional subsequent contact with them:
MARK ADDICOTT (Bristol-based); Has an attractive array of mainly memorabilia, including badges, coins, cards, magazines and newspapers, shirts etc, many with a Bristol City bias. Email: [email protected]
ROGER AND TONY COOMBS (Cardiff-based): The largest dealers in Wales with an incredible range of programmes and other memorabilia, particularly strong on Welsh material. Tel.: 02920-560014. Email: [email protected]
LEE HERMITAGE: (Middlesex based): Will bring Big Match programmes from 1940's to date; pre-1960 Football League clubs and pre-1970 Non-League clubs; late 1970's Topps cards and a selection of books, classic magazines (Charles Buchan, Goal etc.), shirts, laminated photos and other football collectables. Phone: 07922-047375. Email: [email protected]. Website: www.nwmfootball.com.
MARTIN LANE (London based): A Chelsea specialist, who has stalls at a range of other fairs and also carries a wide range of items from other clubs. Email: [email protected]. Website: football-program.co.uk
ALISTAIR LOFFLEY: (Derby based): A Derby specialist who will also be bringing a wide range of programmes from right across the spectrum, especially current seasons. Phone: 07863-203377. Email: [email protected].
TOM ROE: (Lancashire-based): Well-known dealer with a fascinating array of top quality antique items, including prestigious display items, menu cards, autographed photographs etc. Phone: 07813-678889. Email: [email protected]
TRISTAN SAVAGE: (Bristol-based): A local collector with about 250 badges to sell. E-mail: [email protected].
STEVE SMYTH: (Somerset-based): Well-established Chelsea and Arsenal dealer who regularly has stands outside Stamford Bridge and the Emirates Stadium. Email: [email protected]
GRAHAM WHITE: (Bristol-based): A local collector with a wide range of surplus programmes to sell.
WESTWARD PROGRAMMES (Plymouth based): Event organiser and programme specialist, with a wide range of Big Match, League, Cup and Non-League items, with a particular bias towards West Country clubs, especially Plymouth Argyle. Tel: 07543-845396; Email: [email protected]
I think I have a few possible programme gems for Bristol Rovers collectors: the 1951 FA Cup replay v Newcastle after the famous draw at Tynecastle against Jackie Milburn and co; the 1956 Eastern Province (South Africa) v English FA XI in which Georgie Petherbridge played; a 1959 Trowbridge Town programme when Vic Lambden was in their team; and a 1966 Wales v Scotland Amateur Youth international which included a certain Wayne Jones (Treorchy Boys Club) in the home team in the days before he joined Rovers.
I also have two vintagel programmes that I think may be of interest to our many friends from Wales who will be crossing the Severn Bridge to attend the fair: a 1949 England v Wales Schoolboy International in which Denis Viollet and Len Allchurch played; and a 1948 Southern League Yeovil Town v Merthyr Tydfil game.

Good evening all

I will be standing at the fair on Sunday - I have almost 300 badges for sale - a great variety from football league, non-league, Scottish and European badges.

I have a great selection of West-country based non-league clubs which are often harder to get hold of along with a number of vintage badges.

Thanks

Tristan

As the event organiser, I should like to express my thanks to Martin Lane and Lee Hermitage for persevering through the severe weather to drive down the M4 from London to stand at the Fair yesterday; also to the handful of collectors who also made the effort to attend.
I must also add that the staff at Bristol Rovers could not have been more friendly and helpful, from my arrival at the venue at 6.45am right through until my departure at 2.45pm.
I am going to try to re-arrange the Fair for a Sunday in October, when hopefully the weather will be kinder towards us all.

I have had the following response from Bristol Rovers regarding a possible re-run of the Fair in October:
'We are potentially refurbishing the Social Club area over the Summer months and would need to have next Season’s Fixtures in hand before we commit to any dates.of the Fair in October.'
Seems to me we shall all have to concentrate in the meantime on the Bath & West Fair at Twerton Park on Sunday July 8.
