What's all this about ? Most of the posts seem to be swamped up with Predictor Round..there was me thinking this was a football programme forum.

I must agree, would it be possible to park predictions in another area?

No offence meant!

All posts for the Predictor League are already parked in the FPC Predictor League section.
If you don't want to see the posts simply ignore the recent posts panel and go into the Forum Index and just look at what you want to.

Equally, I believe Sharrowblade is taking entries from non league members for the Predictor Cup that starts in January, so you could join in if you wanted.

But it clogs up the recent posts and seems to be taking over the site.

I maybe wrong but I think there have been attempts by sharrow to ask to have predictions pmd personally.

With regards to the predictor clogging up the recent posts column, to a certain degree I would have to agree with Westbourne/Baltimore.

It is an issue, that last season I tried to come up with a solution, by asking members to pm their predictions, this proved unworkable and unpopular as people wanted clarity at mid-day on Saturday and I couldn't offer that because of commitments at SUFC.

The format has changed a little this year, and to be fair to some members who have limited access to the internet I have posted each month in advance, the downside is that instead of having one batch of predictions weekly, there have sometimes been multiple entries by members.

By the end of January, the volume will be far less with less entrants.

However, it is only the recent posts column, if you navigate by the community section its relatively simple to disregard the predictor.

As for being a football programme forum, I'd argue its a bit more than that. Now who was it selling those Spick and Span magazines

Confused

Not guilty, sir. It was Private Eye magazines - good clean satire and not mucky magazines that some other forum members inferred when high-jacking the thread.

I haven't got a problem with the predictor posts, and I enjoy joining in the FA Cup competition, but I must admit if I come on here and see the right-hand column full of predictor posts, I tend not to bother posting as it will only get swallowed up in the deluge and disappear.

So in short ...

Do I mind the predictor posts - No, a lot of people enjoy it.

Do I tend to shun the forum when predictor days take over - Yes if I'm honest.

An easy solution:

I ignore the recent posts column on the right hand side. Instead:

Select "The Football Programme Forum Index"
Select "View Post Since my Last Visit"
Select the threads you want to view.

Simples.

Scrolling down with my middle finger is my exercise for the day and the predicted scores are part of the forum and are easily bypassed if you so wish.

Why don't people add to one sticky post. If 100 members joined the Predictor club there would be nothing but Predictor posts.

Spot on Martino and exactly as I posted in the early part of this thread.

Why it is still an issue when there is a very easy solution is beyond me. Confused
