I would agree, although Forest's back-to-back European Cups was a heck of achievement too I feel - something you can only really appreciate as the years go on, a club of that size doing what they did.

The fact Celtic were all local lads just trumps it IMO though.

Tommy scored in the 1967 Euro final too, he had a great goal-scoring record for a full back which at the time was very unusual. Born in Glasgow like all the others in that team and I agree that that makes it the best British performance in Europe.

Here he is in a 1971 league cup match v St Mirren, time seems to be standing still, Tommy (left) was anyway.
