E Bay free listings

I get the usual 20 free listings per month but for the last couple of months I have not received the "invitation" for 100 free listings which I was receiving every month.

Has E Bay stopped these "invitations" or is it just me?

I've been getting 100 free listings every Day for all of 2016.I can't use anything like that so its been free listings all year.


"Pay only when you sell in July 2016
No insertion fees on up to 100 listings per day"

That's the offer i keep getting on the 1st of the month.

I had a recent conversation with Ebay that explains this.
I was receiving an offer every six weeks for "up to 50,000 free listings" that suddenly stopped after around six months.
I was never going to use that quota, but had got into a routine that saved me money by waiting to list for free.
When I questioned the offer not coming through, I was advised that Ebay target sellers for a period of time with offers, usually six months, and then stop or change the offer depending on the account.
Newer sellers are targeted more than established ones in a bid to raise their volume of listings, which makes sense for Ebay who make more money on sales than listings, so freebies work for them.

Thanks for the replies which clarifies the position. They have obviously got fed up with me only using 50% of my 100 free listings. Hopefully they will realise that I am only using the 20 free listings pre month at present and losing potential income.

I will prepare new listings on Turbo Lister and wait for the next attractive offer to come around. Not being able to list is only a minor inconvenience for me and I am prepared to hold out until the next offer comes around.

E Bay is shooting itself in the foot with me as I will not list unless it is for free. I do not want to pay 35 pence for each listing for items that may not sell. I am not a tightwad but I feel the income from final value fees and Pay Pal should be sufficient for both Companies! Hopefully other sellers feel the same.

I believe that E Bay would increase their income by making listings in certain categories free listing. That would encourage more listings / final value fees / Pay Pal fees.

Or is that just too logical?

It looks like the good times have come to an end for me.I've only got 20 free listings for the whole of the month rather than 100 every day.

I think I've had one every month apart from one this year. I didn't get an email this month but when I log into my account it is showing the 100 free a day offer and it's active.

So maybe you have the same thing?

The offer isn't there for me.Hopefully there will be some free listing weekends in August

Happy days. After 20 free listings for the month and no other offers in the whole of August, I am now back to 100 free listings every day in September.

As we all know E Bay works in mysterious ways.

After my original post they gave me 100 free listings per day in August and I have just received a message that I can also have 100 free listings per day in September.

Happy days are here again!
