I felt so sorry for the Wales supporters yesterday. They've waited such a long time to see their lads play England in a meaningful competition , spent a lot of money just to be there and a lot more money decking themselves out from head to toe in their national colours. They turned half the stadium red and sang their hearts out and what happens:--
Some bureaucratic, supercilious tw@t with dollar signs in his eyes sends the team trotting out in...........'effin' dark blue shirts. What a bloody thoughtless cop-out to deliver a right kick in the teeth to every one of the Welsh supporters at the stadium and elsewhere wearing their red with national pride. I bet that was a right sickener for them and there is no earthly reason apart from paying homage to the "Big Buck" that the team should not turn out in their traditional red.
I wish them well for the remainder of the competition, whatever colours they turn out in and I hope the FA of Wales are lumbered with thousands of unsold 'effin' dark blue shirts that they can't even give away |

Problem as I see it is this utterly stupid England kit Nike have vomited out. You have the home shirt being worn with what SHOULD be the bottom half of the away kit. It's a complete mess
Most Nike kits are poor, and BOTH the current England kits are truly dreadful. If England had a proper kit at the moment rather than what appears to be some random oddments you sling on when you go over the park for a kickabout with your mates, Wales could have worn their usual colours too.
It was noticeable to see many of the English supporters in old Umbro tops or retro replicas. Kids will always insist that their parents get them the up to date version, but I've seen very few adult supporters with the new England shirt. There's one guy who had been selling what could best be described as "unofficial" remakes of the early 1980's Admiral shirts on ebay over the last six months, and he must have made a fortune as they were everywhere in the crowd yesterday.
I'd like to say that I can't believe that the clowns at the Football Association approved Nike's designs for the current offerings (surely they must have had some input, and you would have thought that the F.A. might have included a nod to 1966 somewhere along the line), but given their recent further mutilation of the F.A. Cup (i.e. scrapping of 6th Round replays), it should be obvious to everybody that the F.A. haven't got a bloody clue. _________________ Visit http://nwmfootball.com/ for programmes, books, DVDs, shirts & sportswear and other football collectables. Am I right in thinking Wales could not wear their Red kit as the socks would have clashed with England? |

The Welsh FA are the biggest bunch of helmets known to man.
We spent three years dragging them through the courts just for the right to play in our home town.
Sadly they have rich form for their idiocy, going right back to the 1970s when they forced winger Gil Reece to make his own way to an Eastern European country for an International match because his place on the plane was taken by one of the suits.
The FAW take the term "tin-pot" to a whole new level. |

As implied above, if we had our PROPER colours of white shirts/blue shirts/white socks instead of this ghastly mish-mash, Wales could have worn red/white/red. _________________ Visit http://nwmfootball.com/ for programmes, books, DVDs, shirts & sportswear and other football collectables.
