As long as I can remember, and thats a long time, West Ham played at Upton Park, it was never referred to as the Boleyn. When did that happen?
Mainly this season, when the club wanted to make a lot of money on merchandise

Good grief.

Reminds me that when my son was young he would write off to players for autographs and had a very good strike rate, received some nice items back. Hurst was the exception, the SAE sent with my son's letter was returned with a request for payment! Compare that to the likes of Finney and Lofthouse who sent back signed 10x8 photo's and they were not our photo's being returned!

I always knew it as "Upton Park" at the Boleyn Ground.

I do think they're a special club who've had some absolute greats down the years.

A proper "old skool" club at an equally old skool, community ground.
(they'll miss it too)

However, all that said, I have found the coverage this week a tad OTT.
I don't remember this kind of fawning when Arsenal left Highbury for instance, a club that had actually won titles.

Carlton Cole arriving in a taxi, do me a favour.
Geoff Hurst or Billy Bonds I could have understood.

It's all felt a bit too much for me, especially for a club that are willingly leaving for a free stadium that will continue to be funded by the gullible taxpayer.

Friends in high places indeed Mizz Brady, Tory yes-girl of disabled cuts and the like!

I personally have a lot of time for the 'Ammers, but the aforementioned also needs to be said I'm afraid.

There are a lot of fans with which this doesn't sit comfortably with.
Nor should it, it reeks.

I caught the Boleyn Boys programme and couldn't work out who was sitting with Billy Bonds, Tony Cottee, Tony Gale and Phil Parkes until they said his name...Alan Devonshire. Has anybody EVER changed as much in twenty odd years? Apart from Michael Jackson obviously.

The Daily Mirror match report from the first game in 1904 read "...on their new enclosure at Upton Park. The Boleyn Castle Ground is situated..."

So basically since the start there has been confusion..

The general rule of thumb is that we call it the Boleyn, everyone else calls it Upton Park

Sadly Ruud Hurst is well known amongst hammers fans as being a money grabber, rarely signs without payment.

I remember a game at Old Trafford between Manchester United and West Ham, when Best picked the ball up near the halfway line shrugged off 2 or 3 challenges ran along the touchline and then crossed for Geoff Hurst to head a magnificent goal.
The stadium burst into loud applause for a West Ham goal. The Best in question was Clyde not George.
Thats how supporters should behave

One of the scariest aways and atmospheric aways there ever was down there at West Ham and the surrounding area. Recently I've only had the chances to enjoy some of those wonderfull old pubs around the ground they have down there and hospitality which was in them from locals. The Community Spirit around the area will be a deep and sad loss to a football club that thrieved off it and loved it and used it deeply to make the club good and respected and loved by them. Scary old ground the old away end with the entry the little thin entry that seemd to go for miles and you was safe inside it and then...bang you're out in the open and on a field with west ham either side of you and it was a long way back to the nearest tube and west ham eyeballing you. Scary on a par with old millwall den that one. Yet in recent past say last 15 years I've gone down there watch Everton and been welcomed and had chances to enjoy a fair few sherberts in their pubs and had football conversations with blokes I don't know but what is clear was and is their love and passion and pride in west ham and the area. The Bobby Moore nod of respect at the end was spine tingling and goosebumps job and made beautifull sense on their part.Well done for the send but I fear for WHU losing all that to move to a soulless concrete bowl. Maybe an easy 3 points now away at that place. Could never say that about the old Upton Park especially under floodlights at a midweek with atmosphere that place had.

No the game should not be replayed and add more shame to what MUFC fans already feel.
Shame that we have a manager that allows players before a very important game to be pissing about with mobile phones, shame that the film was uploaded to social media before we had even gone 0-1 down, shame in a bunch of spineless bastards living in a pampered world hiding on a floor.
No leaders on that bus and certainly not on the field of play-this was always going to happen,West Ham have never lived down utd taking over UPTON park and watching us smash the World Cup winners 6-1 to claim the title-the bus was a sitting target as was the reports coming back of normal matchday fans being terrorised by people who should know better..
And the worst thing is reprisals for next season are already being discussed
We opened the door for city in the cup semi in 2011,and again gifting them the premier league title, now we have given them a route into the CL when pep would have had the unenviable task of numerous EL games..I fully expect city to be out of reach by half time on Sunday and us condemned to the europa league...no utd fan will argue we don't deserve it-we are woeful...
Bloody hell West Ham fans wanting revenge for something that happened in !967, I would imagine most of those mindless morons fathers wern't even born, never mind the idiots themselves.

I would think West Ham consider they got adequate revenge in 1992 and 1995 by stopping the reds winning two titles. Sad really, I remember many great games between the two sides. Bobby Moore greatly respected at Old Trafford and responding to old fashioned banter about his "handbag" with a blushing smile.Modern players and fans should be totally ashamed about how they behave these days.

Its not just 1967-there has been outbreaks of trouble between the two sets of fans through the 70s/80s/90s right up to the last few cup ties where a well known member of the so called icf who really should know better now he is a grandfather was left with a pen hanging out of his face after being stabbed.
This was always a cat A game and was always going to happen-West Ham still have a number among there ranks that are more then willing to cause trouble-the temptation to throw missiles/bottles at a stationary coach was to much to resist for some.
Dont get me wrong it would be the same if utds coach was stuck outside anfield/city etc-only difference is the scousers would no doubt want compensation for being showered with glass from their own fans..
As i pointed out West Ham deserved their win and Utd should have no excuses...sadly there is already talk about revenge attacks next season-this rivalry will run and run even though it is only off the park..
