Going through a scrapbook the other day I came across this Pompey team photo - dated (by hand) as 1894 (which sits correctly with other content in the scrapbook).

Unfortunately no players named, and not sure which publication it originally came from. A quick scan on google images didn't bring up the same picture at all though, so thought it might be of interest.

It says "Royal Artillery" on the team photo though? Winners of the Army Cup.

The one above looks more like Pompey as at least one player has the star and crescent on their shirts.

Portsmouth Football club were not formed until 1898, taking over from Royal Artillery.
Arthur Conan Doyle while a doctor in Portsmouth did play for a Portsmouth team before Pompey. I wonder if he is in any of these photos?
