Some time ago Liverpool Jim asked which were my favourite items within my collection, I said a very tall order as I have so many items.

However, I made a start and these items are in no particular order and are not chosen due to value or scarcity yet to some degree some will happen to fall into either category I suppose.

I will have another think and see what else there is at a later time, perhaps other members can show their particular favourites as well?

Fascinating items and nice to them all and free to view. Smile

I see the old cloth badge turned up again. Wink

It does make you wonder though, how many, of certain items, are still around? That tea pot? The pottery figure? The Sharpe's Shield? Etc etc.

I know I have a lot of Brentford FC items, no where near as rare and as eclectic as in your house 'museum', but some items may be the only ones around. I should scan and photo more! Smile

Thanks for sharing. Thumbs Up

I may have shown this before and sorry if I have, but I love this one-off bit of treasure made by a disconsolate Newcastle fan after Palace beat the FA Cop holders at St James's in 1907.

You certainly have some issues with that old cloth badge!-well you may not think it represents that much but I do and so does the National Football Museum as it is part of a display or should I say the display is built around the cloth badge https://flic.kr/p/s5NjD4

Also the emphasis is on favourite's and this certainly is one of mine.

The Tea Pots from the 1930's do show up now and then, there is a superb one for Wolverhampton Wanderers on ebay right now with a price tag of around £235 or so. The small Pottery figure was pennies when it was first produced in the 100's in the 1930's but I have never seen once since.

Why not let us see a few bits and pieces of Brentford history, this is not a competition, everyone and everything is welcome to be uploaded irrespective of value or age-it is just about being a favourite item. For me I have favourite memories of 1968-1999-2008 European final wins but there is so much available but actually if I have one other favourite other item from the 1968 European Cup Final at Wembley it would have to be this as mine and my Dad's tickets https://flic.kr/p/6mxdeq

No issues at all with the badge sir!. Smile I think the story behind it, which you highlighted and added to the description, makes it an interesting item and what makes it very special. Wink

I'll see what I can add to the thread! Cool

Thanks for the info behind a few of the other items too.

Now....... Scanner on......Camera working.......

I'm not massively into programme collecting (although my wife would disagree!) as although I have tons of the things, I am in no way a completest or anything. I try to go to every Palace game, and will always buy a programme, but if I went to 37 out of 38 league games in a season, it wouldn't particularly bother me if I didn't buy the programme from the game I missed. That's probably a bit weird!

Anyhow, some of my favourite few bits are all a bit random.

<<< there's the first programme from Selhurst Park, which is also my avatar. Palace v Sheffield Wednesday 1924 (or as they were known then, 'The Wednesday')

a 1940s bicycle pennant (not actually all that rare!)

a modern Topps 'Quad Auto' card.

I do like collecting modern cards, even if they are just mass produced junk. This one though is quite a rare and special card ad is really quite unusual, not many cards are made like this one.

This late 1970s/early 1980s bag

weirdly because it takes me back to when I was about 6 and lots of kids at school had this very same bag! Just childhood memories really.

This club produced 1989 promotion plaque

Palace won the Play offs, but in the days before it was at Wembley, there was no trophy or medals, so the club made these and gave them to all the players and staff. I have put mine inside a frame to keep it protected.

One of these went up for auction at the last Sportingold auction, and didn't even meet its very low reserve, so it really can't be worth very much! Mine is priceless to me though!
