While I will look forward to this, there is an interesting comparison with the 1975 AFC Women's Championship, played in Hong Kong. The tournament was recognised by AFC and FIFA, yet the team from Australia was not by their own Federation and that did not change until 2023. What assisted in the recognition was a book written about the team - "The First Matildas: The 1975 Asian Ladies Championship" by Greg Downes.

Interestingly, I noted this from the following page of the "Soccer" programme for 20 September 1975. This was a programme for the New Zealand national competition titled Rothmans Soccer League highlighting the match between Mt Wellington and Blockhouse Bay (now Bay Olympic) both based in Auckland.
