My new pet hate.

Why do some Clubs make you register just to buy a match-day programme?

I only want to buy the programme and I have no interest in receiving other matchday or marketing offers from them.

Step forward Charlton Athletic who did this just so that I could buy the programme v Huddersfield Town.

Other Clubs also do it but others make it very easy by treating you as guest just to buy a programme.

I have had to register with alot of Premier League clubs just to buy a copy of a programme this season. Crystal Palace are the worst for after purchase marketing.

Others such as Arsenal, West Ham and Ipswich are perfect, sent only order updates and then heard nothing from them since. Exactly how it should be

I don't mind the registering it's the ridiculous postage costs with some. Barrow charged £5.99 for a £3 programme for a first class stamp and Harrogate was £5 postage but it was bigger and cost £2.80 postage

One credit to Charlton is that they only added £1.50 for delivery.

Must be a very thin programme!

Most of them are like that. Barrow was £5.99 I think. Harrogate was £5 last time I ordered one.

I think it's their standard postage for everything and they can't change it

I just noticed that Bromley is £5.95 postage although the Accrington one from April isn't on the site yet

It's more like a multi match programme than a magazine though unlike teh Crewe one. £2.80 for postage and a plastic bag for my £5.95 though.

I see that Walsall are charging £5.50 postage for theirs
