As a fan of Bristol Rovers I still have the choice of sitting or standing.

If you still have a choice at your club do you sit or stand?

If you don't get to choose, would you prefer to have a terrace back?

Oh, I stand by the way and am not looking forward to our new stadium as it will be all seater.

Jamie.

Very much agree with you. Its our last season at Ninian Park this season before changing to all seater next year. I stand and always have when had the choice and im not looking forward to being sat down next year.

I understand the FSF are campaigning for "safe standing" though which would be great!

Standing would be fine for me. It would add to the atmosphere as you would be able to fit more spectaters in.

we are playing seccond division in Germany and have mostly terraces in the grounds. And even in the all seater Grounds like ours in Munich the crowd behind the goal is standing the whole match and sit down only at half time (if not go for a good munich beer Smile)

As long as I can I am only buying standing area tickets. There is no other way of living football. I went to England/Scotland very often in the past. I have seen at least 10 games a saison over years. But since the prices went that crazy due to these all seaters I stopped my GB journeys totaly and go only there if I have to. When 1860 or Germany plays. (Flight to Wales in April is already booked)

Hope your "safe standing" campaign has success. And you can stopp the Ultras. That "must sing - Magaphone - Thing" is a epidemic plague

Olly

Stand
I stand in the kop even though it is all-seater. Most of the kop is stood for 90 minutes singing and bouncing

I must say I always stood until the all seater stadiums came in and after years of siting I quite like it now and doubt I would go back.

I do still enjoying standing when I get the chance, but its not as missed as I thought it would be.

It's gotta be standing all the way for me. Its not very often that I get to stand anymore, but when I get the chance, I always do. It's what 'real' football is all about, along with cold pies and Bovril that is too hot. Football has become too sanitised and artificial, and standing is the last bastion of the 'good old days.'

I realy miss haveing the option of being able to actuly STAND where you actualy want to ,depending on how you would feel on the day of the match, some times i would stand right be hind the goal other times in the wings it was all about choice, not like now you could be in a seat you would never sit in if you had the option.at Wolves night matches in late 60s early 70s i used to stand at the back of the South Bank, was handy to make a mad dash after the game to catch the last through train at 9-15 to Liverpool?.

Agree with you Olly. The prices here are stupid. A while back (2000) I went to Germany and while I was there took in Kaiserslautern v Werder Bremen. At the time 1FCK were top of the bundesliga with a record of played 10 won 10.
Yet the price to stand in the home end was £6.00. Now I know it was 8 years ago but at the time that was still near on half what I would have paid to see Rovers v Leyton Orient in the bottom division had I been back in Bristol.

What do you pay for a ticket in the home end at you place this season Olly?

We pay £17.00 (About 20.4 Euros) At thats for 3rd teir football.

Jamie.

at the local team here Grantham Town they charge £8 to watch them. Which i feel is disgraceful. £17 for a 3rd tier compared to £8 to see a team in the 8th/9th tier is more pleasing

Standing where you roughly wanted, with who you wanted, all helped create that special atmosphere. Yes the singing can be just as loud in an all seater, but all inhibitions fly out the window when you`re in a packed bunch of mates & you don`t feel quite like a mug , when starting up a song sat alongside a 85 year old grandma supping at her flask on the next seat.

...think that`s a tick for STANDING

I pay for my season ticket 115 € Cool

OK I have to be a member of 1860 but for 17 homegames in BL 2
I think this is more than a fair price. Regular Season ticket is 152 €

Regular ticketprice at the gate for home and away Supporters behind the two goals is 10,50 €.
These are the tickets were you could sit but noboddy does so.

Seating is devided in three categouries from 21 - 26 - 31,50 €.

And I know that Bundesliga prices are not higher in the low budget price rankings. Only Main stand tickets are more expensive.

So there we are.
To see a 2nd teir game in Germany cost about 10.50 Euros
to see a 3rd teir game here it cost 20.40 Euroes.

Rip of Britain is alive and well.

Still. suppose I get to see Rovers loose three 1st round cup games as well.

If I had the choise, I'd stand all the time. For all the benefits the Liberty's given us in terms of capacity, facilities etc., it just doesn't compare in terms of atmosphere most of the time.

Is there any chance of this safe standing campaign coming into action.

Have a look at the FSF website (football supporters federation), they have been campaigning for years.
