Good turnout in Dublin - didn't hear the number through the door but it was decent. Numbers dropped off in the early afternoon.

The 2 main English and Scottish dealers - Michael Hewitt and Brian Johnson seemed to be doing very well. Constant crowd at Mike's stall.

Programmes in demand included Rep of Ireland v Uruguay and the 2010 & 2011 Setanta cup finals. none of these 3 were sellouts. Others were Sporting Fingal v Maritimo which did sellout on the night.

Good selection of the major current season finals.

Mick had some very nice rare friendlies and Festival of Britain and most of those did not sell. However he sold a huge amount of stuff - current season and older stuff in large volume that is reasonably priced.

A friend for example was very happy to pick up 50's & 60's Chelsea homes for a couple of quid each. Nothing rare I'm sure but good deal for all concerned.

Mick covers a broad range of the market from the low end to the really rare stuff. I don't think much of the really rare stuff went as most seemed to be there at the end.

The recession here was not really evident yesterday. However it is very evident in the numbers attending football. 25.000 at last night's game and it would have been double that a couple of years ago.

From a Scotland collectors point of view I was a bit disappointed in the range of programmes on offer, even Brian from Almondvale Programmes didn’t bring over his usual large selection. That said, I did pick up two 50’s homes from Mick Hewitt for a reasonable price, and another from one of the Irish dealers/collectors stalls, plus that days Carling Cup programme so didn’t go home empty handed.

From what Brian was saying, there was a good turnout for the Belfast Fair the previous day.

As for recession, at £27/€30 a ticket for the Scotland v ROI game, no wonder the stadium was only half full. I think this is the last we'll see of this tournament.
