We all look for bargains whether on eBay or auctions or this site. I saw an advert for a ticket and asked what they wanted. I offered over the amount quoted. It was agreed by both parties as to the price and i sent payment. It was then withdrawn due to another post saying how much they sold it for. I find this a totally unacceptable situation. If you accept an offer you should abide by this. If i had offered too much and it is an agreed sale can I pay less? No, is the simple answer that is what you have agreed. Equally, if you have quoted a price and someone has paid that amount are you not morally oblidged to continue with the sale?IF YOU OFFER ITEMS FOR SALE AND THEN ACCEPT THE AMOUNT OFFERED AND RECEIVE PAYMENT YOU SHOULD KEEP YOUR END OF THE BARGAIN CUSA!!!!!!

I had one on ebay where there was a jacket on ebay and the silly seller started it at £10. I was the only bidder (despite having a maximum of £100) so as soon as it finished, I did the right thing and paid by paypal.

A day later I was refunded (not by choice), as the seller claimed it had been stolen from his car on the way to it being posted.

About a week later it was relisted by the same seller, but with a much higher start price. He claimed the police had returned it to him.

I was fuming but refused to bid again at the higher price an it never did sell so karma is there somewhere

I had a mint condition spurs tour programme to Cyprus in the late 60's very neatly signed by a number of players. I had seen one sell in much worse condition without any signatures for over a £100 and so expected more than this. It went for £32! I was gutted but obviousy posted it out to a very happy buyer! One is on ebay now at nearly £200. I suspect some people would have kept the programme, said it was lost in the post and refunded. Once you agree a price you should stick with it. Had I offered well over the odds for the ticket I thought I had bought and the price was accepted would the seller have refunded me if I had seen it much cheaper elsewhere? i think we all know the answer to that one. To me, having accepted an offer above what was asked for and been sent payment, to withdraw as they think it is worth more is not acceptable. You win some and you lose some. At times you get a bargain at others you either pay too much or get far less than you thought it was worth. That to me is half the fun.

A few months ago I won a bid for a bundle of about ten football shirts and paid immediately. I can't remember the price that I paid, but did win them cheaply. A couple of days later, I received a refund with no explanation why. I contacted the seller, who informed me that he didn't get the price that he paid for them new, so was not posting out!
I informed him that as he had run the item as an auction, it was his own fault. If he wanted a better price, he should have listed as buy it now. He took offence to my feedback post - Don't play with the big boys in future!!
