...and need some advice please, on who some of the makers are that I haven't been able to identify, and scarcity value if any?

The first batch are German from the 1930's - 1937 is mentioned on one of them, so maybe they were produced for the 1938 World Cup? Can find no mention of the makers anywhere, whenever I type their name in I get loads of Pilates classes!

Second lot, Sunrise Cigaretts. Again can find no mention of them anywhere.

Third lot are from 1907-08 and are Cohen Weenen, London. Pompey and Bristol City were still in the Southern League then.

4. Who are they?

5. Paper like quality with no markings on the back, who made them?

6. Appears to be the oldest one from 1901!

7. These seem pre WW1, Smith's Cigarettes.

8. Also by Smith's Cigarettes, nut would they be the same as (7) as these are FJ Smith's?

9. More Smith's Cigarettes, this time Albion Gold Flake. Is it possible 7, 8 and 9 are the same brand?

10. Maynards Confectionery, early 1930's Huddersfield.

11. Famous Footballers Sport and Adventure magazine.

12. Adventure on the back. Anything further?

13. This year's top form footballers, Rover, probably late 1920's?

14. Football towns and their crests, Rover. 1930's probably?

15. Vanguard magazine 1920's?

16. The last three I've included both the front and backs because I've never seen anything like this. No indication of the maker. Any ideas?

Value wise, I'd check eBay and see what they've sold for recently. Card catalogue FCCM would have a higher price, but I'd stick to eBay to search approx values.

The German 'cards' - they may be stickers as I have a Brentford one - have a high value if English/Scottish/Welsh etc are shown, but yours look all European?

The same for the other cards in your other two posts too.

Find the series and maker and check eBay. One or two may be worth a little more than the £1-£8 that the majority are worth.

Nice finds and interesting to see the different sets.

For (general) cigarette card collectors condition is very important - and if selling individually first and last cards in series in good condition tend to command higher prices since these were the ones most likely to be damaged by storage.

Thanks for that guys, especially the links Paul.

Have never really dealt with cards although have had a few pass through my hands over the years. These were the ones I'd never seen before, there are hundreds of Players, Wills, Gallahers, Champion etc as well although I realise these are common.

The Konig link doesn't work because of the accents on the 'o', but if you search at the top of the website, you'll get the listings for the different series of Konig cards.

As I said, it's a wide and varied collection.

If you're interested in selling the Brentford cards on, let me know, thanks.

The Frank Forman Nottm Forest card is in odd one. I've searched Alan's website and the nearest style to it are the FJ Smith Cup Tie series, but in that set Forman is listed as Arsenal?

Maybe Alan will come in here soon and pick up from where I've left off. He is the font of all knowledge re football cards!
