That's it.
Deal's done.
Papers have been signed finally.
Pompey will become the biggest community owned club in history!

If only we could lock up all the crooks who have passed through Fratton Park,

The football league should hold their heads in shame !!!!!!

Hopefully any remaining points deductions can be applied this season so that they have a clean slate and a fresh start from next season.

Whilst I'm sure it's been a nightmare, it must have been quite a 'journey' for anyone 'doing the 92'

I agree it dosen't seem fair, they are the losers.....javascript:emoticon('Crying or Very sad')

no doubt outvoted on the CVA

I often wonder what would happen to the premier league if the banks wanted their loans paid back !!!!

Great news. I have never felt I could trust a man who wears a suit every day, these twats cause so much trouble. I'm glad Pompey didn't suffer the same outcome as Rangers. Hearts and Dunfermline have been on the brink for a while now as well,I just hope that these two are able to survive as well.

I have stopped my sky subscription. If there is many people like myself who believe that the service they provide is not worth their prices and decide to downgrade or cancel their subscription, the knock on affect of that could be a nightmare for many clubs.

Problem with this is that your average football fan now wants the option of watching as many matches on TV as possible - lots of people my age (16) ask why I bother going to England games when they're on TV, for example. While Sky + BT now retain their monopoly, there will never be enough people stopping their subscriptions to cause a problem for the Premier League (unfortunately).

You're right of course but it would be so good to see TV's control on football go pear shaped. It is happening now in Scotland because there is so little TV revenue that Sottish clubs will have to rely on youth development which can't be bad.

I agree with your point - I am also cancelling my Sky subscription (at the end of the season), just wish more people would do the same.

Much as I love a live Rangers game it is really too much. You can't beat actually going to a match. I remember in the sixties and early seventies tuning in to radio 4 at 4pm and commentary didn't start until 10 minutes into the second half it was much more exciting in the days we were starved of coverage.

I can't speak about how it used to be, but like you I also much, much prefer going to live games.

For about 10 years I watched every match on TV without having Sky, eventually got a subscription to Sky, and have ended up watching less football on TV than I did before I started paying - simply because there is too much and no match really stands out that much.

The worst thing is having friends who claim to be 'die-hard' fans of their clubs, and yet attend maybe one game a season (if that)! Generally the same people who take the mick out of me for supporting a 'crap' team.

Totally agree with most of the above (except them taking the piss Chris Very Happy ).

I've never had a subscription to any of these channels and doubt if I ever will. The punditry is bad / boring enough on terrestrial tv without paying to be hacked off.

The only good it seems to do, occasionally, is give a boost to lower league clubs when they are given some coverage - a rare thing as we know.

Big competition coming up between Sky and BT for coverage in the very near future, to get the coverage rights.................

Pompeypete,
Forgot to say well done and good luck! Thumbs Up

Pompey are officially out of Administration.

There is some debate on whether the points deduction will be implemented now or held over until next season.

I seem to remember a Club - can't remember which it was - a few years ago who had the deduction held over to the next season as, like Pompey, they were already relegated. Hopefully common sense will prevail and it will be deducted now as the fans have suffered enough already.

Think it was Leeds United who were deducted 15 points for the next season - or were they deducted points in both seasons.

Not quite as old as you Eck
But have to agree.

Wall to wall football has made the game boring.
Used to make a point of watching game if it was live on the tv (except anything involvings hibs Very Happy )

But now, i rarely bother with any games that are on.

oh and well done Portsmouth.
Its a route Hearts are hopefully going down soon.
