More detective work!
Anyone know anything about Ekco FC? Or what became of them?
Perhaps a works team - didn't Ekco make TV sets/transistor radios back then?
Unusual programme in that there's only a line-up for the home team...

Can't answer what became of them, but they were definitely a work's team, and looking at Ekco on Wikipedia it's interesting to note also that they have had an offshoot of Ferranti (Ferranti Thistle who went on to become Meadowbank, because the SFA wouldn't allow them to enter the Scottish Football League with a work's name) and later became part of the Philips Group (where PSV Eindhoven originated from)

Wikipedia notes that directly after WW2 they employed 8,000 people, so would imagine they had a thriving sports set up within the company?

Looking at the fact they played Chelmsford City Reserves from the text at the bottom of the programme, it could be something to do with Ekco Plastics, which were based in Southend until recently. They had their own sports ground and I have played against them in the Essex Olympian League (was probably the Essex Intermediate League) about 8 - 10 years ago.

Sorry but this is all guess work, but may help.

The brilliant FootballClub History Database has FA Cup qualifying results for Ekco 46-8, but nothing on their league history.

Just reading a book on the Wembley Wizards, and fulback for Scotland that day was Jimmy Nelson who also won the FA Cup with Cardiff City and Newcastle United. He ended his pro career at Southend United and it's noted that he played wartime games with Ekco Sports at the age of 40.
