Two Middlesbrough pre-war programmes without covers sold today on Ebay with vast variations in price.

The first, a Sports Picture Post Football Programme covering Middlesbrough v Blackburn 1912/13 sold for £1.25p. The second, Middlesbrough v Derby 1930/31 went for £70.97p. It would appear to be ex-bound.

The question arises, would you pay over £70 for one of your clubs pre-war programmes without a cover?

Now I do have a 1938 FA Cup final without a cover somewhere. I wonder if that would raise more than that Boro v Derby 30/1? Sherlock

I seen a few Boro pre war without covers, probably ex binders. A recent pre war Sunderland v Arsenal with pages missing went for over £40 last week. Personally i wouldn't touch them. Strange. some people worry about, folds, rusty staple and team changes, but others will pay good money for incomplete programmes. I think i saw a pre war Manchester United with no cover last week, and it wasn't selling for about £40, which was a bit of a surprise.
