Does anyone here use PM's database to keep track of their collection?

I adapted my own version years ago for my own programme collection but its run its course now and I wanted something better, so I purchased a disc from John Litster at the giant new year fair in London but I'm having trouble understanding each section and how to start going about putting my own data in.

Can anyone help please?

I use an older version, which has served me well for several years. Drop me a PM if you have any questions.

Hi, finally seem to be updating data at a reasonable rate, just one little thing I'm hoping somebody who uses or has used it can tell me how to do the following:

When I customised it, ie home team, away team, date etc, is there any way I can expand the columns length wise? I'm only using 11 columns, plus the counter which still leaves room for 2 more columns on the screen, can I expand a couple of them to make it fit across the screen? If so, how? Cheers in advance!

Come on guys, there must be at least some of you that are using this?

I really need to lengthen the caption boxes, can it be done? Please anybody?

Pablo

I suspect that you can not customise the length of a field held on the database. It will probably be defined with a maxixum length. I think the database is Access, so if anyone is a bit of a whizz with it they could probably customise the underlying database.

What you can do is change the length of the displayed fields.

Caption view:

If you place you cursor on the right hand edge of a field name, such as Condition, and then, when the cursor changes to a vertical bar in between left and right arrows, drag it to the right to increase the length. You can also reduce the length by dragging to the left.

Hope this helps.

Paul, thanks alot, I'm almost there now!

Even though I've extended my "notes" section in the grid view, it will still only let me input a short amount of words/detail in the caption view, if I click "design" two little arrows appear above which enables me to stretch the column, but still I can only put around 25 characters in the box how can I overcome this please? Your help is much appreciated mate, cheers.

Pablo, it looks like Notes will accept a maximum of 250 characters.
