? I only see reprints on Ebay
Its definitely not there, I've checked highest priced items, newly listed items and searched 1897 cup final and all derivitives. Eck, your link shows over 400 items of which none is this!
Is it just me?? |

The seller has had some stick in the past. I have dealt with him before and found him pleasant and genuine. Incredibly he buys rare programmes , and resells them on Ebay for 99p start. Obviously it must work as he is still going strong. No doubt it will bring further comment . |

I'm very fussy on the condition when buying my programmes.....
.....so I won't be bidding on it as it's not in mint condition.

Don't blame you . Strangely enough, the slight marks and creases on these rare items, give away the previous owners . They are so rare , when they do pop up, it's the same programme time and time again. |

Not sure what condition you would expect a programme of that age to be in. Pristine I think not. |

This was for sale at sportspages.com. It had been on sale there a few years to be honest. I thought about buying it myself once or twice but it has been trimmed too much for me to justify the price they wanted for it which to be fair to the seller i will not disclose.
A picture of a original programme un-trimmed

To be fair to the seller, by starting it at 99p, he really isn't trying to rip anyone off, and it will find its own true value. You have to have respect or him in that way at least.
Unlike many sellers on ebay, who decide the price of an item, then relist it ad finitum even though it will never ever sell at the price they are asking. _________________ FPC Predictor Cup Winner 2013

Very true, by starting off at 0.99p you nearly always end up with many more bidders and watches which means a better final price especially for old and rare items, although it can backfire there is always the option to end the listing early with more than 12 hours left to run if the price isn't anywhere near you would like it to be. |

That is one hell of a trim . But it is what it is. Not like another will turn up next week/month/year. I'd be tempted if I was a Everton or Villa collector. |

I doubt it was trimmed apart from the John Piggott advert at the top and where the word grass is at the bottom both in the centre, the other 65% of the programme at the 2 sides were folded in to a 6-page foldout style issue so these probably just fell off and were lost to time at some point as you can see most originals from this era all have tape marks or tape at the bottom of these areas where they split. I would be interested to see the back of the programme,
I wonder why the seller hasn't put a picture of the back of the programme on ebay? I don't think another 12p to put a picture of the back up would be too much to ask if you were asking somebody to part with hundreds of pounds. I would be interested to see if the trimmed sections cut half way through any adverts on the back as this would leave it looking very undesirable. |

Actually that description of it being "trimmed" is misleading. More than 50% of the programme is missing as the adverts are an integral part of it. That is fine is you have the knowledge but as not many around this could readily mislead someone into someone thinking they are getting something they are not as there were single card issues for some of the 19th century finals. |

Personally, I wouldn`t wish to buy a programme which appears almost destroyed.
Secondly, after reading his advert in large CAPS, I feel like I`ve just received a real ear-bashing.....totally unnecessary. |

Fair point Cossie regarding a picture of the reverse,I will endeavour to add a picture of the reverse side right away.
As for the chap who took offence at my large caps I'm sorry I've ruined your day sir! |
