Hi I do house clearance for a living and have just cleared a house with a HUGE collection of programmes, there's thousands of them. A lot are new 80's onwards but there's a lot of older ones 30's through to 60's. Whats the best advice on how i should go about sorting through them?

Kent. I'm still clearing the house. The guy was an extreme hoarder, the house is insane, I've been doing this for 20 odd years and never seen a house like it.

I would list the older one's on here and see what advice you get for them.

Are they from one club or a variety?

Huge variety of teams British and European.

Would follow Rabid's advice and see what the reliable members of this forum have to say.
The modern issues are best off as a job lot at a nearby auction, anything pre war best to sell individually.
You may be sitting on a little gold mine, only time will tell.

These are the two that I have noticed who are reliable and have a broad knowledge about the business. There are many others but that is just my observations.

Thanks for the advice I guess I'll start with clubs, teams, decades, cup matches. All the older ones are in a treasure chest so there might be a little gold in there.

Any 30's/40's/50's are going to be a very good earner.

Only tip I can give really is that if you go the ebay route, the item title is critical - make sure you spell both teams correctly and put the season ie "1949/50" in the title too.

Personally I'd be talking to Sportingold, their sales get a lot of attention from collectors. They know how best to sell things - individually for the higher value, and how best to group things into lots for the less rare

You will find there are plenty of interested parties from various clubs here - you might save yourself (and any buyer) a lot of commission if you put a decent list on here and see what kind of offers you get.
