I have listed the following programme on eBay but cannot seem to find any information about it. I cant see it being of any significant value but was wondering if anybody could tell me anything about it.

The programme is 100% in Spanish so does this mean it will have been available only to home fans?

Any information would be appreciated

common item, think it is printed here?, not official from memory worth little. Why did you not think to enquire on the forum beforehand?.

Cheers Leslie, didn't think it would be worth much considering its age.

Thought it may be official as it mentioned it was official throughout and is completely in spanish - will have to change the title of the listing now! Laughing

No particular reason for listing on ebay first, just looking to get rid and seems the best option.

Thanks for your help Thumbs Up

Just checked it outas i have not looked at the memorabilia from that game for years. Programme is probably genuine and official as in 100% Spanish with the ads as well, I did locate a pirate for the game which was produced in the UK and i will put it on flickr shortly along with some other items from that match.
However, i am aftraid genuine or otherwise it still has little value, i suspect one or two persons must have brought 1000's back thinking they would make a killing as all are virtually mint condition and never saw the inside of the ground ever perhaps!. There is also a nice official CF Valencia magazine which has details of the United match and i will show that item also-if anyone wants a scan of it along with the pirate just send me a PM with your email address-ok

Just found the image of the Pirate on my flickr-thought i had not put it on:

Thanks for all the information you have given. A shame to hear the value is so little but did not really expect any different. Cheers for the link as well, some really interesting items on there

Afraid I don't have either and imagine it will be very difficult to get hold of any of them! Maybe in a few years if finances allow and they ever become available.

Thanks for sharing Smile

Believe treble99 has a similar Gilgryst cup programme - the abandoned game prior to the one featured in Leslie's post

I think Ray has one and maybe against them in a different season? as regards prices-cannot give any clue-always been much sought after and very hard to obtain. The crowds were small numbers-maybe a few hundred for some of the local league matches. The first few matches of the innaugral season of the FA Youth Cup in 1952-3 were played there but once it was apparent that good crowds were turning out United started to move to Old Trafford. There were the odd Youth matches played at the Cliff over the years here and there and the last Youth match and i am advised as the last competitive match involving a United team was against Burnley Youth in season 1956-7.

Hi guys. I can confirm that the programme is official as I went to the game.
From what I remember they were handing them out for free when we walked in.

It was the only nice thing they gave us all day unfortunately.
From the moment we got into the ground we had all sorts of missiles thrown at us (rockets, bottles ).
And afterwards, we were given no police protection as the Spanish threw everything they could at our coaches. Ive never been so frightened at a match.
And to cap it all the ref happily joined in and gave them every decision including a penalty and we lost 2-1 (having drawn 0-0 in the first leg)

After that game United banned taking away fans to Europe as they 'couldnt ensure own our fans safefty'.

Here's some items from the trip organised by United for you guys.
( I must set up a flikr account )

Thanks for those clips Manchesterutdman.

I used to have a newspaper from the day, or 2 days, after the match. The article reported on how the coaches were attacked, but the main lead and photo was a picture of a Valencia fan holding a gun !
Im gutted that I lost this paper as I had the original , and then having lost that I went to somewhere in London to get a copy of it , which Ive now lost.
I cant remember which paper it was , but Im sure it was either the Daily Star or Mirror. Im sure it wasnt the day after the game as the full details hadnt come out then, so Im guessing it was the Friday (1st October 1992) .
There are some photos of paper cliipings here , and one user comments he has the article with the gun - i have sent him a message but his post was 18 months ago. http://www.flickr.com/photos/57986580@N02/5333240823/

Any ideas how I can track this down ? Thanks.
