Just been to my first New Year fair.
Very impressed, loads and loads of people.
Great selection of items too and not just programmes.
I managed to get the 1957 Arsenal v British Olympic XI for a cracking £45, many thanks to football programmes.com for that, and for a fair haggle.
I was a bit disappointed that some dealers had some truly excessive prices and were very tight when it came to haggling. Do they not realise that we know what they are worth?
Picked up a 1980's Panini album for £1 and a few 1960's aways also £1 each.
I stayed for about two hours and hope I'm rest day in June for the Summer one.
Wife came too, she was the one in the red coat if you were there, straggling behind her "kid in a sweet shop" husband.
Many thanks to those who organised it.

I went as well, I got the 1966 World Cup final for £90 in good condition with the teams/scores filled out. I also saw the holy grail for any West Ham collector: the 1923 F.A. Cup Final. Although, £1,300 was a bit pricey for my budget.

I also got two England programmes for £2, '77 v Wales and '81 v Scotland

Great day!

(although West Ham got knocked out of the Cup to Wednesday)

My first ever programme fair today too.

Spent around £250 on some nice Man Utd programmes and a couple of other bits too, thanks to Alan Benedick, Dave Johnson, Michael Hewitt, Barry Swash, David Allen, John Litster and 2 other sellers whos names I unfortunately didnt get.

Very impressed by the size of it and cant wait until the June fair at the same venue!

I was there too. However probably got lost in the crowds as it was pretty busy. Big thanks to Dave Allen for bringing in a few bits for me. Picked up alot more than I was expecting.

Great to see such positive comments on the fair. It was certainly well attended and I was extremely busy all day – so much so that I didn’t get much of a chance to chat to customers so apologies for that. Two things particularly struck me: 1, people had plenty of money and were prepared to spend it and 2, there seemed quite a few younger collectors there (including the posters on this thread!). Both very encouraging and lets hope it continues at the next big London fair, same venue on Saturday 2nd June 2012. In contrast to the 2 suites Martin Corrie uses for the New year fair, We use all 3 suites for the Summer fair to accommodate 30+ different stallholders and the 700/800 collectors who normally attend. England have just announced a Wembley friendly versus Belgium on the same day which should further help the attendance at the fair.
