Post subject: FA Cup Final programmes |
|
|
Hi there, I've had a collection of Manchester United FA Cup Final programmes for some time now, and just want to know what they're really worth! I've heard a few different valuations, so just wondered if anyone on here could provide me with a rough value of the individual programmes!!
The programmes are as follows...
1957 - Villa V United
1958 - Bolton V United
1963 - Leicester V United
1976 - United V Southampton
1977 - Liverpool V United
1979 - Arsenal V United
1983 - Brighton V United (& Replay)
1985 - Everton V United
1990 - Palace V United (& Replay)
1994 - Chelsea V United
1995 - Everton V United
1996 - Liverpool V United
1999 - United V Newcastle
2004 - United V Millwall
2005 - Arsenal V United
2007 - Chelsea V United
Any help would be gratefully received... Many Thanks in advance! |

Values depend greatly on condition, best to check the going rate on Ebay theres loads of these on there to compare with the condition of yours. |

Understanding a market.
Seller (S) . If if you want to sell an item then the value of that item to you is nill.
Buyer (B) . If you want or need an item then the value of that item it's how much it is worth to you at the time you want to buy.
A market is formed by bringing together S & B and it's emotion that delivers the price in most cases. If S is not bothered then B can get a good price. If S dos not really want to sell then B might have to pay a high price. A fair price is perhaps in the middle of that.
Hold on ! before you tell me that doesn't help you, let me explain. If you don't intend selling these cup finals then none of the above means anything to you.
If you are thinking how much will is cost to replace all these should you loose them? then you should go to the retail sector not e bay. It's simple enough to do a search and find one of those, I suggest you take the prices from one who has been around awhile and is likely to be there again should you need them later. |

I've had a look on there already and there's only a select few. I'm only looking for a rough guide really. They are all in pretty much perfect condition, with just the 1957 and 1958 having the expected aged look, but no rips, tears or damaged corners. |

Cheers for the patronizing reply! I was merely looking for someone to give me a rough guide on how much someone would pay for these... like all the other posts in this section of the forum! |

Hardly patronzing as I don't know you from Adam.
You stated "just want to know what they're really worth! I've heard a few different valuations"
If you've seen the prices available already I just assumed you needed to know which ones you should take notice of. How many times do you want to be told things are worth what someone will pay for them?
Good job at introducing yourself to the forum. |

Well thanks for your input anyway! As with anything there will be a number of different valuations from different sources, so i made the decision to come onto a forum and speak to real people who deal in this area, in order to find out their views on the value of these items. At the end of the day, we're talking about the value of football programmes - it's nothing to get too serious about!! |

they may be offering them for sale at £14.50 a time but selling them is a different matter. I guess from your response to somebody who is giving you a honest reply, that you have already made your mind up that they are worth a fortune, so why ask for a value when in your eyes you already have a valuation. |

Wow this really is one of those forums isn't it!! I'm actually commenting about how ridiculous it is that 'footballzone' is selling a 2007 programme for £14.50, considering the attendance was almost 90,000, I shouldn't think they are too hard to get hold of!! lol! |

Footballzone prices are a joke so posh is right.
Fa cup final programmes have dropped in value as has alot of the Market. Your 1957 prog approx £30 1958 £25 beware of reprints. 1963 £5-£10 the rest With the exception 1996 and 1999 nothing to get excited about range from a couple if pound to a fiver if lucky. 1996 was a ton plus but now around the £50 Mark. 1999 £15-£20.
Our posters are correct though, eBay search for completed listings will give you more than enough info. Hopefully my response will allow this post to conclude satisfactorily. |

Hello folks and footie fans,
Football Zone website owner here !
I have read your comments and would like to add mine.
Actually i have sold quite a few of these programmes,
we have very satisfied and delighted customers worldwide,
if you feel our prices are a joke, that is your opinion.
We take great care and pride in our vast stock,
and as a business we need to make a profit, we are not a charity.
It's been a great year of football, and for our website as well,
we hope your team did well, we are now looking forwards
to the next games and next season excitement.
cheers
Dougie.

Welcome to the site Doug.
Football Zone was one of the first sites i came across when i decided to finaly fill in a few gaps in my collection.
There was not one prog that you had that i required that did not have some kind of fault ie Team/Changes , Half - Time scores ,Tears, Center Foldes etc, some even had all said faults to the one prog.
I e maild you several tims re a prog that i was desperat to add to my collection ( that was way way over priceed )IMO , and never once recieved a reply.
I finaly obtained said prog for a quarter of the price you had it marked up at and in "mint" condition also.
Is there realy a market for somet of these sub standered progs you are selling . |

Hi Nozer,
sorry to hear the emails did not arrive to us,
we had a few website php issues early on,
it took us a while to find out, now sorted.
Congrats on getting your prog,
a lot of the early programmes have slight faults as they have been to the match and people like to fill in scores etc.
i do run another 600 or so other websites etc,
you should see the inbox each day, some emails may even slip through.
cheers
Dougie. |

Just had a look at the website (you have to create an account to see prices) and I have to say the prices are ridiculous.
However, good luck to you if you manage to sell things at those prices. |

I have just visited FootballZone. Nothing I want but I would be intrigued to find out a price, I DO NOT wish to log in to find this out. So perhaps somebody who has an account can log in and tell me. The item is listed as Manchester United v Brighton 1983 FA Cup Final – MALTA. This item was bought on ebay a couple of months ago for £9.50 plus £1. I would be interested in the mark up and whether this is indicative of other mark ups. |
