Here’s the deal…………….I’ve been after a certain City away programme for some time now and have never seen it come up on eBay although a dealer I know has it for £25 which I’ve heard is about the going rate for it but last week it came up on eBay, I bid a max bid of £22 but was outbid and it sold for £23, Now here’s the deal……………Within an hour the exact same item from the seller was relisted - I contacted to ask why I wasn’t given a second chance offer and as to why it had been relisted so quick, The seller replied with 'they had no idea how to offer a second chance' and how much would I be willing to pay? The seller in question has a feedback score of well over 1900.
I have now declined the second chance offer as it was given well after it had been relisted and has a bid of 30p which was the case when I first spotted it.
Is it better to watch and wait, Chance my arm of getting this cheaper or is the something very dodgy about the whole affair.

Does sound rather dodgy - but perhaps the seller just had 2 copies? Ive sold a reserve programme on ebay before which fetched something like £170 - i was totally in shock as i was expecting about a fiver, so i contacted the 2nd higest bidder to also inform him i had a second copy if he would like to purchase which he did. However if i didnt know how to offer a second chance offer i would possibly start a second auction. But i would find it strange that a user with such high feedback did not know how to do this! |

I thought that may be the case but it’s the exact same item relisted and surely they would have said they had an extra copy and so soon after the bidding ended as well _________________ Every Man Needs A Hobby |

Is it an item that could be easily faked? Again, that doesnt really sit with someone who has just a large feedback - is the feedback from selling programmes etc? |

Here’s the link - I thought shilling bidding too but they cant be that silly with such high feedback and plus this is the only City away programme I’m missing from 1966 to date and one I’m obviously keen to obtain but I will to not be ripped off in doing so

however if you look at the feedback the seller sells lots of low value lincoln programmes so there might not be anything sinister. Indeed if it was shill bidding it would be in seller's interest to offer second chance as there is no guarantee bidding will be as high second time round. Why not offer seller £22 to end auction early ? |

My advice to 'Mancitymark' is place an offer at the last minute/second
what you are prepared to pay.
I would offer say £20, if he thinks you are going to offer £22 again, he would place a offer against himself of £21.(and win it back)
That would show him up......unless he has 2 programmes.
If you win the auction, thats you complete back to 1966, done & dusted.
It may be over the odds but you have to pay that to complete. _________________ RESPECT..................

I agree with pete bid with 15 seconds to go. Remember to make sure you are logged in first and remember you have the 'confirm' after placing the bid, so leave youself time.
As for the seller - why would somone sell so many 20p and 25p items?, it must take an enormous amount of time just to make a few peenies. |

Or alternatively offer the dealer who has it for sale at £25 the £22, these are hard times, he'll probably accept it, you'll complete the set, or if he says no pay him the £25, an extra 3 quid sounds good to complete a collection! |

Nah, nowt dodgy about her. First off shes not a dealer, if you check out the stuff shes selling its all bits and pieces of clothes with a few football items chucked in.
Chances are shes a stay at home mum selling odds and sods to make a few quid, most of the football stuff shes selling is the sort of gear her kids would want rid of ... small numbers of football cards and the likes.
Also, the majority of the programmes shes sold in the past are Lincoln so Im willing to bet thats the area shes from and she/her kids have probably picked them up at a boot sale or maybe an old collection her hubbys had from games he went to.
Another thing in her favour is if you check her neutrals/negatives shed always given a refund and a genuine explanation.
As for why she didnt give a second chance offer, Im guessing because shes never sold anything high value in the past shes never had the need, and genuinely doesnt know how to.
Finally, shes not registered as a business seller so the items shes listing arent costing her anything which is why shes got such high feedback, list loads of crap for nowt and sell loads for coppers, exactly why Ebay brought in the free 100 per month listing rule for private sellers.
I think your right in turning down the second chance she belatedly offered and Id go with the advice on here and wait till last minute and snipe this, Im reckoning youll get if for a few quid.
Phew .... finished !!! _________________ Footybits Football Memorabilia & Souvenirs - http://www.footybits.co.uk |

As she is from lincoln and does appear to have quite a lot of 90s lincoln progs maybe she just have multiple copies and frankly if anyone had several copies of a prog that has twice reached £20+ then who wouldn't keep listing them. I suspect she is just reusing the photo and description but many people do that. In fact this one appears to include ticket as well so appears a different picture. If the prog is sought after then it is logical that it will reach a consistently good price. Its a shame that every sale and seller on ebay is now viewed with paranoid suspicion. |

A good point from goonerboy, sounds like she could have a few of them. if that's the case the price should come down; as they get sold the demand will decrease. |
