Been told that programmes for the above match will cost £10 is it a wonder that some people are going off collecting programmes. What does the collector get out of it a big dent in their finances. Also anyone looking to buy as an investment would gain nothing at that price.

It's probably going to be a much bigger and more lavish edition than the normal league issues, although not on the scale of the £30 book they've just brought out about the ground.

I suppose they are just 'cashing in' on sentimentality - lots of people who don't usually buy a programme will want one (even at £10).

No doubt some ebay merchants will buy extras to sell at a few quid mark up too

Don't expect any modern day programme to be an investment to be honest, just buy it for the enjoyment and pleasure it will give you

As I am a collector of First & last (grounds & League)so I will need this one. The £10 touch has been commonplace for ground moves, especially for the one with a bit of gold border for many years,
There's a few sellers already on Ebay with pre-order listings offering £13.99 freepost, the other £14.99 plus £2.50. Knowing joe public they will probably buy the dearer one! jDoubtless there will be the usual feeding frenzy if West Ham's move is anything to go by. When Arsenal moved, as well as the regular issue they did a leather-bound, gold lettered limited edition of 1000 which cost £50 Shocked

Looks like it will be a lavish edition and what a fitting team to end an era.

The Arsenal programme is fetching anywhere between £10-£25 on eBay so I would expect the United game to fetch more.

On a personal note, I will miss WHL as we know it. One of the last top flight proper grounds where the atmosphere can be electric and intimidating with fans so close to the pitch.

Whatever the price, it's a must have for Spurs collectors.
The club (like most) will exploit this and maximise the profit.
That said, after the end of Upton Park last season programmes for the last game were selling at £20-£30 at first, but within weeks I saw them as low as £2 each.

Back to the Lane:
I still can't believe that I will never set foot in the old place again.
So many memories of standing on The Shelf over 50 years from the three UEFA Cup finals I was lucky to attend, dancing on the pitch in 1978 after beating Hull to virtually confirm promotion, all the great players, games and goals. I have my memories and will probably shed a tear when they finally shut the doors.

Goodison Park and Villa Park are still left from the old original grounds who can create a hell of an atmosphere.

Whilst I am sure many Spurs fans will rue the leaving of the place that has been their home since 1899 i came across a quote in another programme about the self same situation. 'Old houses with happy memories are hard to leave, but are soon forgotten when when new memories are created.'
For me I wonder what the stadium will be called? Personally I hate all the sponsorshit, with ground naming rights being sold and then later altered for another higher bidder, and as for electronic adverts flashing around the perimeter grrr, I expect I am growing old.
I did read that West Ham are still looking for a naming sponsor, but perhaps Mr Levy will be luckier. Given a choice for a new name I wonder what would fans like it called?

I would be very grateful if someone could arrange for me to buy seven of these. Lots of Spurs fans up here in North Wales, happy to pay upfront and cover all postage costs. PM if you can help me out.

How about "Nike Hart Lane"?

Apart from financial gain, there is no need to rename the ground as it is on the same site, but I fear they will.

White Hart Lane (the road) is actually a five minute walk from the ground.
The name of the ground was originally due to the White Hart pub being situated at the entrance to the original land owned by Charrington's Brewery who Spurs rented the land from to develop the pitch and a stand.

I fear the worst......Coca Cola Arena, The Quatar Stadium or something equally meaningless with no nod to the history of the place, but it will always be The Lane to Spurs fans.

I really do hope that they keep the name but as Five has stated, I fear they won't.

If it is to be renamed please don't go down the sponsor route. The Sir Bill Nicholson Stadium would be more than fitting as his ashes will be dug from under the current pitch and placed under the new one

100% behind that James

I wonder if any of the marketing "bods" has floated the idea of naming one of the food areas "The Deli Alley" yet Get My Coat

Hearts are producing a commemorative programme for the Aberdeen game as it will be the last home game with the old 103 year old stand in place, it’s going to be demolished within weeks (the new stand is currently rising up behind it). A4 I believe and £5.

Spurs are lucky, at least their new stadium is largely on the same site, not many clubs can achieve that.

Everton are moving around 2020 Sad so sad but the price of progress that's the question isn't it ? if I was Spurs I'd also name one of the stands are Jimmy Greaves. Like You all who've commented I fear the worse for them as well. Well done Hearts for only charging a fiver for an issue that is saying bye to a beautifull old stand which is over 100 years old.

Sir Bill Nicholson Stadium. Alf Ramsey Stand. Jimmy Greaves Main Stand. Glen Hoddle Stand and Gary Mabbutt Stand. Sounds decent that.Maybe if Spurs got their heads screwed on they'll do a poll amongst the fans to ask them who they think the stands should be named after ?

That would be most fitting and I think the three stands are a shoe in but I am torn between Mabbutt and King although Ardiles and Villa would be high on the list as well as my child hood hero Perryman.

The choice is tough but I am certain that Berti, Rebrov and Postiga wouldn't get even a groundsmans fork named after them.

Hard to look any further than Bill Nicholson, the manager that won the double for Spurs. But what about their outstanding captain in the early 1960's glory years, Danny Blanchflower? Then you have got greats like John White, Dave Mackay and Cliff Jones from the double team. Jimmy Greaves is a legend as well.Tough choice!
